  1. The only way to balance the colour is by adding carbon fibre bonnet and black out the roof with vinyl. But for now I will just leave it as it is for now and see if I am happy with the wing's aero benefit.
  2. Update 2009: I bought genuine TRD wing for a price can only be described as a steal. I didn't really want to change the wing as I like how it is subtle with the low spoiler, but the price was too good to be missed. Strange how all my parts were purchased at low low price, it must be fate. Nonetheless the wing is 2nd hand and it is painted in OEM Toyota black. In the beginning I thought I will paint it white but leave the mid-blade black. But I am not interested in spending money to paint it as I don't view the TRD wing as a real necessity to the aesthetic of the car. Keen to feel what aerodynamic changes to the car, so I thought let's fit it as it is and see how it look like without painting it white: Not bad, I think it actually looks interesting.
  3. Once I sort out the drivetrain then I can start looking for power upgrade. However I don't know how long I will be in QLD so its situation dependent at the moment. But I know where to take my car if I want to turbo it ;)
  4. Yeap, this car is amazing. I test driven it and boy its smooth, feels like factory set up. It reminds me of Golf GTi MKV.
  5. I think there is Tein SS for Camry in USA. You should be able to put it into Aurion no drama.
  6. I used to get that funny noise but I was not bothered attending it so I just left it as is and nothing wrong happened. It could be the belt that needs replacement but I am not sure.
  7. saj lovin ure levin looks good with that new twinloop of yours :D Needs major lowering that car. 4inch drop sounds fair.
  8. The first one does look very nice. Need some bodykit and it will be even nicer.
  9. Wow, there's great deal of study in creating that awesome looking manifold. I like.
  10. just get the piping and buy a decent dry filter - i've seen first hand the mess these oiled filters make in an intake after buying a project car and taking the motor apart. Just don't over oil it and you should be fine to be honest. I use it both on my Corolla and Celica, and I never have oil stain inside the intake piping. MAF gets dirty, but not because of oil stain. I think oil filter have extra safety when it come to cold air intake mainly because when its raining the oil would block the water from going in. Sure a splash of water probably won't hurt, but extra safety is never a bad thing. I also read a review long time ago from a UK magazine testing heaps of branded filter and Apexi comes out best in both filteration and airflow. Similar test was conducted by Japanese magazine and again Apexi won with consistent result, mirroring the UK magazine.
  11. a small snail would be nice to drive up the power below lift and give the engine enough volume of air to lower the lift.
  12. Sorry, I was referring the turbo for the S2k. On Celica, Rotrex would be the way if there is no other option. One thing Rotrex don't have is that terrific whining supercharger noise from Roots type.
  13. Blitz back in the game eh? I supposed they can't let Greddy take over their s/c market for Celica.
  14. Blitz made one for 2zz and 1zz. As far as I am concerned, both are discontinued. I wonder how responsive rotrex is compared to the roots type. I'm not impressed with certifigual charger like the Vortec kit for S2000 as there is no power at all down low, in fact I think its robbing power down low to drive the belt. But once on VTEC, hold on to ya seat. Then again, may aswell turbo the car for such power delivery.
  15. Hey dude, how u been? Where are you now anyway?
  16. Cheers guys :) I think the styling is done. Maybe TRD wing but I kinda have dilemma because now it looks more slimline and smooth flowing. Next would be exhaust and drivetrain, but these two can wait for longer period (thank goodness for that).
  17. Hello boys, I recently upgrade few more parts for the Celica. Set of TRD Swaybars Cusco Camber plate and Cusco master brake cylinder stopper Volk Racing GT-N 17x7 +29 wrapped in Bridgestone 215/45/17 <--- too thick, but its 2nd hand so yeah. The TRD swaybars made huge improvements and with the cusco camber on board I can now dial in more advance wheel alignment. The camber plate don't reduce comfort at all! Once the tyres are finish, I will then look for a set of Falken FK452 215/40/17. Sporty enough and absolutely brilliant on the wet. Few more pics:
  18. You could be right, I think I did get a quote for Tein SS for ZZE, tuned for oz road from Fulcrum. Tein Wagon is a seperate product, but only in Japan. And as far as I can remember, Tein SS for corolla is US only. But then again I did remember Tein SS from Fulcrum...
  19. I like to know also. During my corolla days I bought a Taiwanese brand coilover and I never have problem.
  20. I wonder if Tein Wagon for JDM corolla is actualy TEIN SS for US corolla.
  21. Check KYB AGX, maybe they have this for Corolla in USA. If not mistaken they are full shock replacement, meaning you don't need to butcher your std shock. Its cheaper than Koni, and is damper adjustable. Orange in colour for your information. Then you just need to pick the springs. Good luck.
  22. Well then you get smart and go to the wreckers and buy some off a wreck and modify them.... More than one way to skin a cat...... I was going to do that, but it worked out after having to purchase the 2nd hand shocks, eibach spring and koni yellow, it cost close to $2,000 inc fittings. It would probably be a different story if I want King Spring though.
