  1. That's not Ebay brand strut bar, it's as the labels says DC Sports. A well known brand over in USA. Not sure if it will fit or not because I remember the TRD strut bar for US Corolla sits behind the fluid container due to more space, but it won't fit into RHD Corolla due to less space behind the RHD fluid container. But somehow I remember someone did install the DC Sports strut bar in OZ...
  2. Ahahaha, my friend's civic was left for the whole year while he was studying overseas. When he came back and start the car it had a hard time starting, then something pop out from his exhaust (must be a big exhaust) and it was a family of mouse. Medium rare. Anyway back to air-con. Well, the last resort would be to bring it to servicing and get it cleaned up. What ever it is that needs cleaning. Not to discouraged you, but long ago I remember my x gf IS200 got its aircon serviced to get rid of the smelly odour, and after awhile it came back! Best to ask how to keep the bad odour away when and if you go for air con service.
  3. Have you tried driving around with the vent set to draw in outside air?
  4. VVT-i is hard to beat when it comes to fuel efficiency. My previous car a Corolla Levin ZZE with CAI and full exhaust was able to travel 450km using only half tank on 100km/h freeway zone. I was stunned. My friend did managed to reached Sydney from Melbourne with 1 full tank with his zzt Celica. But I failed to achieve that with my Celica when I was on my way to Gold Coast from Melbourne. Could be because I was stuck in serious traffic that morning. So at best I did it with 1 and a quarter tank driving my Celica from Melbourne to Sydney.
  5. Mine is 00 model, and I have no problems changing gears. What do you mean by needing split second to find the gear opening? If you can do it at 7000rpm no reason why you can't do it at higher rpm. Try practicing by slotting it to neutral then shift up immediately to slam home to third gear. This way you'll be sure it will go to third gear and not 1st gear. Once you're used to it, you'll be able do it very quickly to even land on lift during 2nd to 3rd gear upshift.
  6. What speakers are you running again?
  7. Thanks Dan... :) Pardon my ignorance, but what do you mean by a bandpass box? Bandpass box have two holes (well the ones that I know anyway) on top of the box, which sits directly below the holes on the parcel shelf. This way the sound of the bass can enter the cabin instead of being trapped in the boot.
  8. Although it may look ugly for some, I think the TRD ball shifter is very nice to use. And it's light too. I used that for my Corolla with the TRD S/S, and use it again for the TRD S/S on my Celica.
  9. That's a good solution other than bandpass box for sedan. We won't like to hear trapped bass on the boot. Good job.
  10. Very subtle. Where did you place the subwoofer? With that amount of power you'll knock-out an eldery man.
  11. The price for TRD header looks attractive.
  12. Your description sounds more like SPL than S.Q S.Q in a van is of course possible.
  13. No no, I am just curious about the noise that's all :)
  14. I honestly didn't notice the noise you mentioned during deceleration. I'll pay more attention later when I go for a drive.
  15. I just noticed his 3zz-fe engine cover is the one from 1zz-fe. And looks like he got a tricked out rear spoiler also.
  16. That's one very Euro looking corolla. Love the front bumper, well done.
  17. Maybe it's quiet for me, but not you. Or maybe the Celica have better deadening than Corolla. I did find the tyre gets quieter with more use, but let's just see how you go.
  18. Yeah they're just a very loud tyre lol But they grip in the wet and dry. A really good tyre and well priced compared to S drives, T1R's etc Is it loud for you? How many kms has it been? I honestly find it to be quiet.
  19. Wow, I thought C-One type R is lighter than 4kg, as light as the TOM's.
  20. Nakamichi CD700 Upgrading my head unit from Nakamichi CD400 to it's bigger brother Nakamichi CD700. The difference between the two is amazing, so is the price difference by four folds. So I was lucky to source one second hand from Alex Minassian in Brisbane. The rest of the system stays the same; Audison SRX4 amp, Rodek with custom 2nd order passive, and Hart 10' in custom passive radiator box. CD400 is an awesome head unit, but once the CD700 starts to play it's no contest. If analogue sound is your thing then this head unit could be the thing for you. Although it sounded much much better, now my Rodek needs to go as its just not on par with the CD700. And the new speaker is AVI Direct LX which currently is in Indonesia with my family waiting for me to collect. The AVI will get custom passive too, together with ribbon tweeter to go in tandem with the AVI tweeter. Passive is to be 6th Order, but if its too big to carry then I have to settle with 4th orders. A mono amp will be sourced to drive the sub-woofer as the Audison will be bridged to drive the AVI (at least temporarily until I get a better amp). But for now, the Rodek can serve its final duty before its called for retirement. And what better way to do the final duty than working together with CD700. Go Nak!
  21. New updates: TRD Quickshifter. I used to have TRD Quickshifter on my Corolla ZZE Levin, and it really is one of the most enjoyable thing to have for the car. So it's only natural I get one for my Celica. Most shifter kit is just a shorter rod, but TRD Quickshifter is a whole new cradle assembly which sits higher due to the solid brass mount. The rod itself is shorter above the balljoint, but is longer below the ball joint (that is why the cradle needs to sits higher). So as a result the shift throw is quick but at the same time easy to operate due to adequate leverage (unlike TWM, which really is the same as cutting your std shifter). Solid mount stops the cradle from moving, so you can be sure shifting is solid and precise. Snip - snap affairs I called it. Install is a breeze, and it will take about 30 mins - 1 hour if you know your interior layout. I now understand why the shifter kit for Celica don't come with the TRD ball gearknob (Corolla's kit comes with the shift knob). Before the shift kit, there is space between the metal ring and the knob. Now the knob will sit right on top of the ring, and being complete round in shape this made it annoying to grab hold. So a quick bluetac job holds the ring from underneath to the spacer on the rod. So if you have Celica or Corolla, you must consider TRD Quickshifter. At first the shifter may feel a lot heavier, but as you get used to it you will find this shifter kit is made to be abuse. Lovely.
  22. It's best you ring up the distributor, which can be found from each brand's website, and ask for the stockist and price.
