  1. mate i am no exhaust expert, but there is probably a good reason why there are 3 cats, taking one out may make your car put out too high an emission level. If you take it in to toyota to get warranty work on the engine, mate you are being a tad nieve if you think they will not use your exhaust as a "get out of jail" card so they don't have to fork out the $$$ and manpower to fix your car. I am not having a go at you, i just don't want to see you get nailed by the Po Po or a toyota mechanic.
  2. whats the deal with the first photo, there's a Lexus badge on the a$$ end of that thing?????????????
  3. I agree, Darius i hope that you don't get busted by vehicle inspectors down there in VIC, you will be in some serious $hit if they find out you havent got a cat converter. I am suprised that the exhaust joint you vistited carried out that sort of work mate.
  4. my 2nd hand sx6, when i first got her, the tank averge was 12.7l/100km. ( i do about 60% highway, 40% town) over time i am getting better results, it went to flat 12's, then into the 11's, now i am sitting on a flat 10, whoever owned it before me must have had a lead foot and the computer is slowly adjusting to my more conservative driving. I was only getting 400km's a tank, yesterday when i filled up i got 505km's with about 10'kms to go on the distance meter (*** knows how accurate that thing is).
  5. yeah i agree, you can see the black in the body kit a bit better. I have a black SX6 and it all blends in with each other, if i had my time over again i would go for the white instead of the black, but that is my opinion.
  6. you will find the 120-115km/h zone and above is pretty fuel thirsty, about 80-90km/h is the most economical, you would have been probably sitting around or maybe even above (considering you had a trailer) 2500RPM, when you are doing 80-90km/h, she tends to be around 1500RPM, it's pretty big difference, she seems to love that speed. I notice even having the car with 4 other blokes in it, the consumption goes up big time, so having a trailer attatched on the back, it wouldn't have helped.
  7. the 'S' isn't sports mode, it's "SEQUENTIAL" or so I am led to believe.
  8. yeah mate live in the Northern suburbs, in the"Gun".
  9. Davo I am pretty sure I drove past you on saturday arvo (was in the missus' commondore though) around 3pm on Woolcock St/highway. When it went by i was wondering if it was you............nice wheels by the way.
  10. G'day mate, you live here now or you somewhere else?? Beaves.
  11. yeah, not a bad theory 'Coustik, let the yanks be the guinea pigs, hehehehe.
  12. I personally wouldn't bother about CAI to be honest.
  13. I thought as stipulated in the Toyota handbook, that toyota brand oil was to be used, i can't remember it's rating though..........
  14. Commonly referred to as "Natural Slection"........................
  15. The engine will have to rev higher to reach the speeds at which you want to drive at if has a unserviceable spark plug in a cylinder I suppose, just a theory.
  16. Seen my first TRD Aurion yesterday, the Po-Po have a red one up here as a highway patrol, my *** i wanted to pull him over and ask him a few questions!!!!!!!!hahaha!!!!!!! Have also seen a blue SX6 getting around as an unmarked joey, very very sneaky. I have seen about 6 since I got mine a month ago, there is a white one around the corner, I must say that white on the Aurion looks sensational, the body kit stands out and bit better than my black where it all sort of just blends in with each other, if I had my time over again I would get either white or gold.
  17. I have a black SX6 and yep, it shows the dirt bad however I enjoy washing it and taking care of the car. It gets me out of the house and gives me 2 hours in which i can listen to my tunes out in the sunshine and away from the missus...........
  18. Has anyone done any mods yet?? I'm looking at maybe lowering mine a bit, but undecided at the moment. Are there any engine mods that can be done cheaply???
  19. Surely there has to be a way to get more power out of the engine though.....
  20. it has been hot up here recently so the aircon has been on a bit, and it only takes 10 mins to get to work, i think they are the main factors. I filled it up today and i am going to drive like miss daisy for the next week and a bit and see what i can get. I think the hot humid air wouldn't be exactly great for combustion though, may be a big factor in the average fuel consumption I am getting.
  21. Looks good, not a big fan of those mags though. I'm thinking of taking one just for a test drive, I can't afford one but i would love to just give one a gutful and see how it goes.
  22. I can't get the average per 100km's lower than 11.5lts I don't know what the go is with that. I use premium fuel as well.
  23. fpv, I don't he was referring to you mate, I think he was just asking in general.
