  1. Apart from those (including myself) that work hard and save, you'd be surprised at the how many of those expensive cars are financed. Unless their parents bought the car for them. That's a different story altogether.
  2. I usually cut my clay bar into 3 to 4 pieces and use them up like that. If your car is not too bad, you only need 1/4 of the clay bar. You kneed it out then use it. As it picks up contaminants, you fold it in half, kneed it out again, and repeat. After you use the clay bar for a bit, it will get to the point where you can't use it anymore. That's when you throw it out. Check out this video for the basic process, just ignore the product branding: Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  3. WAAAYYYY OFF TOPIC. but i was thinking about the word "b*stard", that means without a father right? and then it got me thinking, if there was am mother and a father for the aurion, what car would they be? a camry being the mother and the lexus being the father? as you can tell i am extremely bored at work :D From looking at the AT-X, I would say the mother was a Gen 6 Camry that would have had a one night stand with a VZ or a VE.
  4. What makes me laugh are the ones that feel so confident to drive though a flooded road and end up messing their car up.
  5. Sinnamon Park: Rain is fairly heavy, with brief moments of really heavy rain. I live across the road from an old turf farm; half of the place is flooded. A few roads nearby in the Oxley area are flooded as well. Drivers: Don't get me started. This is the one thing I hate about wet weather. I'm more concerned about one of them hitting me from their crappy driving rather than me sliding out unexpectedly. I had a ute tailing me on the Centenary when I was already doing 100 in the 100 zone. Had other cars tail me as well when I was cruising the speed limit. Then of course as you said, you have the ones that drive so slow it's even more dangerous. I had many cases where I have been driving along and one side of my car would just about aquaplane. So many roads don't quite have sufficient draining and these puddles are usually pretty hard to see. Lucky the Adrenalins seems to just cut through them pretty well.
  6. Gotta be serious right. No road is absolutely smooth. There are slight variations in the smoothness of a road (even new ones) and when you're travelling at those speeds, your car is going to pick up on these. Your suspension and shock absorbers will be reducing what you feel, but you car is going to have some slight up and down movement that is going to be noticeable in your mirror. Your eyes are pretty good at stabilising what it sees, but there is only so much you can do.
  7. Not everything is perfect. It just means that would have been the slightest amount of extra weight on part of the rim if you were to balance it in the dead centre. If it's enough, you would notice it as vibration when your wheels are spinning at higher speeds.
  8. Hmmm, I dunno :P I think I will say that I'm 99% sure it will be the train tomorrow. Man this rain just keeps on going and even getting heavier. Drove past the PA and half their length of temporary fencing around the construction works got knocked over. BTW Mick: Called up the hotel we are staying at. All is confirmed. Edit: I retract my previous statement.
  9. It's like a soap bar for your car. It cleans all the stuff that a simple car wash sponge/mitt cannot remove.
  10. As said... lithium grease.
  11. I'd be looking at removing the centre trim so you can get nice and close to the mechanism itself so you can visually inspect it to see if anything seems out of place. If you can't see anything broken or getting in the way, you can try to spray some lithium grease into the moving parts of the joint. Depending on your available time, if it were me, I'd be taking the whole shifter assembly out and dismantling it, then cleaning it, then lubing it up and putting it back in. Sometimes visually inspecting things don't reveal any broken bits, but when you take it apart, if something falls off that shouldn't, then you can usually identify the problem.
  12. Evan's got a manual. You said they didn't fix it to your liking. Is it currently the same, better, or worse than before you dropped it in? What kind of feeling is it like? Is it something you can narrow down to the shifter or the gearbox? If it's the shifter pivot joint or something like that, you should be able to feel it out of whack by changing through the gears with the engine off.
  13. Rowan, I think Phil is already showing signs of cracking. How about you frame him a photo ELEGNT.
  14. Yeah, been going non-stop over here as well. All this dry weather, and now this. I don't mind rain, but sometimes enough is enough. Not all the fun * Disclaimer: I am not suggesting, nor do I condone any reckless behaviour on wet roads.

    Jap lovers

Damn, those were hot. That would be wicked having a double level garage and cars to suit.
  16. there usualy isnt pics from a nebo run? Unless there is a catastrophe. We don't want any of that though.
  17. Woot. You got around to publishing your ride. Very nice indeed. Looks so much better in person. Those photos are sick. Great job with those man. And you still have even more coming up by Tangcla.
  18. The error is two-fold. Yes, it's past the 17th, but the 17th of May 2009 is not a Wednesday either. But it is in June. Sure is. Birthday time.
  19. The error is two-fold. Yes, it's past the 17th, but the 17th of May 2009 is not a Wednesday either. Since the first post was made on the 17th, one would assume there was an error and consider it the next Wednesday, which would be the 20th. Anyways, just saw the news. Doesn't look like it will be dry tomorrow. So I guess this will be postponed.
  20. Okay, I'm definitely set for this then. Finally got around to picking up my E-Toll tag. I don't know if I'll even need it, but it's there just in case. On a side note, I like the design of the newer transponder. Fits in much neater than what the previous one would have: Woo. PAAARRRTTTYYYY!!!!

    Exhaust Mods

Just couldn't hold out any longer Wise choice. The 2GR deserves a little bit of a note to it.
  22. Happy 20th Birthday Evan!!! Your teenage years are over.
  23. Soft... J/K. At this rate, it seems like it's going to be wet at Nebo tomorrow. I guess we'll need to put a raincheck on this outing.
  24. Nah mate. Still have the resonator on my car. Actually, the resonator doesn't cut out TOO much of the sound. It's just the combination of having a glass-pack straight through with the resonator that leads to a quiet note. I had a cut-out before which pretty much opened the exhaust up right behind the resonator, and it sounded really nice, not too loud but still with some bark. When I put the Varex on, it lost all that bark. Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!My car spends a lot of time at high revs so I'm not too fussed about removing my resonator.
  25. Yeah, I'm just curious how he mounted it cause mine was placed as high up as it can go and it looks like yours sits higher than mine: I'm not complaining though. Haven't had any issues with mine and it looks alright the way it sits.
