Apple Introduces Revolutionary New Laptop With No Keyboard
DJKOR replied to DHC09's topic in Lights, Camera......Action
"It remains to be seen whether the wheel will catch on in the business world where people use computes for actual work and not just d*cking around" -
LOL. I recall SecaBoy saying the same thing. I said the same thing as well, but it is so easy to get carried away; especially when others start doing things as well.

Any specific reason why you need to clean it? What I would recommend if you were just looking at cleaning it for the sake of cleaning is to pick up a bottle of Fuel Doctor. This stuff was originally developed for keeping fuel storage tanks clean since it is hard to do so when they are underground.

I thought I would post my feedback in reply to the following. Just my personal opinion: When I have people complaining about the lack of space on the inside, then this would be something to think of. I am yet to find someone who thinks this car isn't large enough. If I stuff it full of overweight people and it gets cramped, I highly doubt they are going to complain about space since that problem already has its answer. As for the external size, why would you want any larger? To make it harder to park? To make it more likely for the car next to you to open their door into yours? Seriously, I find the Aurion to be the right size on the outside. When it comes to that argument, these cars were built as a performance sedan for the street. In this situation, the only advantage a RWD is going to offer is the ability to put more power to the road with more traction. The hole power thing is there to satisfy the market. For their target market, these people feel comfortable that they bought a car that actually has some power to it. Once they get it, they drive it as they would any other car. The extra performance is there to make them feel good. Sure it is more difficult to drive when pushing it, but that's what will distinguish you between a hoon, and someone that knows how to control a FWD with all that power. Sure the new Commodores look quite nice with the flared guards and aggressive stance but seriously, how many times do you see them on the road. It's just another Holden. The TRD (even the other Aurions) have a unique style to them that I reckon looks better than most passenger cars. As for the Falcon, I don't see any good style in them. They all look the same. Depends how you define fun. I find it more fun driving the Aurion as you feel like you are controlling the car more than say a Commodore. Yet to find that an issue. Packed with 5 average people, I have had no complaints. Also read the end of the first paragraph of point 1. Yeah it is a little expensive, but I guess it is what helps separate the market. Sure it may not be made to directly compete with Holden and Ford, but I think the move was more to give an alternative.

That is very nice of you ;) Certainly will be good for those of us wanting to push for performance. I think I will stick with my ideas of getting a Varex though. Mainly because I want something that can be quiet for the neighbourhood, but I also want it loud for the hoon in me. I just don't think I could handle a single solution. That's just me though. I am curious about your results however.

That's the same with ours. You can only dial an outside number by pressing 0 only after you pick the phone up from scratch (and not from someone calling you), or select a second line while on the call with someone. Pressing '0' while on call ends up with the you and the other person hearing a combined 941 and 1,336 Hz tone (standard zero DTMF signal). These emails that get sent around like this make me wonder how some people really fall for things. Like those Nigerian email scams. You think to yourself about how stupid they are, yet you hear about all these people falling for it.
-
You will find that even with most business PABX, dialling 90# is just going to send the tone back to the person on the other end of the line. With a lot of business phones these days, you need to manually open a new line by selecting it on the phone. Because of the touch tone feature, you don't select another line whilst on call by pressing a numeric button. Unless your business is REALLY bad at updating things.

90#. LOL. Try it. I DARE YOU.

Brisbane Meetup (Every Thursday 9pm)
DJKOR replied to Danthuyer's topic in Previous/Past Club Meets & Events
I will stop by the loop tomorrow around 9pm, so if anyone is up for a meet, I'll be there. -
Well guys (and girls), I just got back home after picking up my car. As expected, the issue has been corrected. Holding the wheel straight will keep the car straight. The only cases of it veering either side is caused by camber in the road. I drive most of the time with only one arm so I tend to notice the force required to make adjustments to the steering wheel. I can definitely say that with the SPK2904K fitted, I'm no longer applying slight clockwise force to keep the car straight on a flat road. The guys there said they get quite a few Aurion's in to get this part fitted and that Toyota refuse to admit the fault. He also said that they are now supplying the part to the dealers for when they eventually fix it. I guess if you are persistent enough with Toyota, they may fix it for you. For anyone around Brisbane getting it fitted at a Fulcrum suspension centre, like dharsh said previously (thanks man), avoid the one at Yeerongpilly (Fairfield Road). That one quoted me a full $200 more in installation labour than Browns Plains. Amazing how they can rip you off like that.

Well, sometimes the tyres have uneven wear / irregular wear on it - This is commonly seen as slanted ridges on the threads of the tyres and brought about by improper alignment, which can exacerbate the pulling issue. So, Which came first? The chicken or the Egg? Well as we speak, Fulcrum have my Aurion and are changing the front-rear control arm bushes with the offset type as mentioned in the thread: Wheel alignment specs Remember, I have had a Toyota wheel alignment before which has not corrected the issue, so I will post back with the results when I get it back this afternoon. I reckon that the pulling issue is caused by this (otherwise I wouldn't be spending money on this), and then any extra tire wear is the result of it, which then creates that snowball effect.

Now MY jaw hurts from laughing. Talk about jelly legs.
-
Damn, that's a long one as well. I don't know what goes through peoples minds sometimes. Hope it cleans up easily.
-
hv u actually tested? Yes, many many times. Considering we were doing 10+ cars a day, I've had plenty of experience in this field. This guy knows his audio; I'll tell you that. LOL, on a side note Drew, I just remembered all the talk with you and Nikita about your guitar amps. Toaster/Jerry Can amp FTW.

Well that's really up to you. If you have travelled closer to 7,500km between your last service, it is definitely something to think of. Car engines that experience a lot of city driving are more prone to developing oil sludging issues so an oil and filter change at the 6 month/7,500km mark wont hurt.
-
My bad. I knew I was meant to say something in that post as well. The only other nearest one is Southside Toyota in Wooloongabba. It's located half-way between the Golden Casket building and the Gabba stadium. Bit of an extra hike to get to, but their service is quite good. The extra distance didn't bother me though since I work down the road, plus I like driving.

To all the argument:

People are still Rick Rolling? Man that's sad. Though the drifting at the beginning was pretty sweet.

Running cable from engine bay to cabin?
DJKOR replied to MyRomeo's topic in Corolla / Corolla Sportivo Club
That's pretty good of your insurance company. Though, I'd hope you get a decent fire extinguisher. A good safety feature would be a fast way to disconnect the nitrous. That's the last thing you will want in there if your car catches fire. -
Well if you have the plugs and harness behind the bumper, why not take advantage of it. That will save you on running cables down there. It you don't have the fog light switch ring on the headlight stork though, you will need to do a bit of DIY to install a relay and switch.
-
It is recommended that you service it at either the 15,000km or 12 month interval; whichever occurs first. I would definitely not leave it for 24 months, even if you don't travel far. As a matter of fact, doing mostly stop start and city driving would put extra wear on the engine in comparison to highway driving, so I would never even think of letting a car like that go longer than 12 months without a service.
-
Oh don't get me started on them. I hate them. Actually, their spare parts department is friendly, but their service department aren't so great. SupaTouring had his rims scratched by their incompetency as well. I better order my strut bar stat. My Aurion lacking this is just not acceptable.
-
It always amazes me how it can stay so level and consistent. Like even on a hot day when you are pushing it hard and the heat radiating from the engine bay is intense, it still manages to cool sufficiently for the gauge to register in the middle. Just one of those random thoughts that amaze me.

As crazy and pointless as that is; that was pretty cool. Embedded video for everyone: Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!

Mine occasionally gets the smell of bowling shoes every so often (note 1 below). The musty A/C smell you get is common with many air conditioners, some just have it worse than others. Two things can be done. 1) Spray some Glen 20 lightly into the A/C inlet (located in the passenger footwell), 2) Drive around more with your fresh air setting on. The cycle of fresh air from outside usually helps to an extent to kill bacteria lurking on the evaporator.
