  1. Just putting rear control arms and castor arms back in now, checking torque specs on my PC.
  2. Torrenting now Going to the shops to purchase a legal copy now. <_<
  3. I know it's probably a bit against the grain, but any chance a monthly thing could be held on a Friday night so I can get a chance to come?
  4. I'd love to see a Lysholm-blown 2ZZ! Who wants to go first? :P
  5. You've got such great taste in music Tabby :P That album is my epic drinking music, best thing to start a night off with! For me, currently its Alexisonfire - Old Crows. Lot of fans will hate this album, I personally like the direction the band is going in, really different style of vocals for Dallas.
  6. Grab yourself an earlier Corolla. Cheap to run, easy to fix yourself should anything go wrong and you've still got a Toyota :)
  7. I know people running them, wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemies! Absolute terrible rubbish they are.
  8. Yes... but more like Mmmmmm. I can't wait. No Y piece then? :P
  9. would the FI route require the same or possibly more reinforcing of internals ? with a SC costing about 8-9k NA seems a lil cheaper rite ? interested to hear more on the FI route =] keep the opinions coming ppl As long as it's tuned right and slightly decomp'd, then you should be able to run close to 10psi on stock internals without too many hassles. You don't need to by the blower kit, you can always custom make something ;)
  10. Cheers for the advice, I'll know if I ever (hopefully not :P) have to do one of these again. Just putting strut rods back in now, all came off nice and easily with a rattle gun. Cleaned the threads down, lined them with teflon spray and copper anti-stick so they shouldn't bind up again. Rear ball joints are now in, having issues finding somebody who stocks tie rod ball joints but I guess I'll keep looking.
  11. Where do you stand in the KYB/Tokico/Koni argument?
  12. Yep :P Cypher - where are you located mate?
  13. hrmm fair enuff wats the best 1st step towards na engine moding ? seems like pistons are at the lower end of the list ... Power FC ? Headers, high flow cat, exhaust, intake, etc is a good start. After that look at aftermarket ECU - PM CHA54 or SuperDave as I believe they have something in the books. IMO, for most people the extra power that will give you will be worth it. After you've done that I'd look elsewhere before considering more power - better brakes, upgraded suspension, LSD, etc.
  14. Control arms are back on with new ball joints and Superpro bushings, took front castor arms mounts off to have castor arms undone at work with a rattle gun and tidied up intake piping (still needs to be modified).
  15. Baby update - found out the strut rods mounts can be taken off, although it's taking all my strength to undo the bolts. Good thing is I can take it all in one piece to work, hook it up in a vice and crack at it with a rattle gun.
  16. Aaaaalrightey. Lower control arms have been bushed, ball-jointed and torqued back up. Still having some epic, epic problems getting the front nut off the strut bars, but I'll work it out eventually. Bushings are done on the rear, ran out of time before I could do the ball joints though at work. Still needing to make something up to remove tie rod ball ends, anybody have the proper tool to do it I can borrow? I'm hoping to have all the bushings and basic suspension bits (apart from tie rods which are still in the mail and coilovers which are yet to come) done by the weekend. I just need to weld a speedflow fitting to the intake and then it's all ready to be HPC coated - will have to chase down Rowans intake to be done at the same time :P
  17. Worth it? Not really considering the availability of good aftermarket pistons for cheaper than that. If you want high comp, there's a LOT more than needs to be done.
  18. I have heard a lot of good things, seem to be one of the higher end cheaper coilovers. For around that price, I've had a few businesses recommend I go Koni/Eibach or TRD springs as apparently it will handle just as well. If it's for your Paseo, look into EP82GT stuff. It will bolt straight up and there are a LOT of second hand coilovers out there. Get them rebuilt by a reputable shop and you should be sweet.
  19. Sounds like to me you should take it somebody who knows how to do a good wheel alignment...
  20. Koni adjustables are a good piece of kit, KYB's are also apparently very good.
  21. with RainX dont get the spray on ones but instead the concentrated ones in the bottle.. they work tons better then the ones in the spray bottle but do becareful to avoid any contact with ur skin as it is quite acidic... Isn't it just mainly methanol?
  22. FogX is great stuff ;) I also recommend you go nuts with RainX, both in the additive to your washer fluid and the spray on coating. I'm just using Bosch wiper blades, lasted about a year already and still work very well.
  23. At least you dudes haven't had that MJ spammer yet :P Back on topic, W58 should be fine as that thing would be super light.
  24. TIG welding is easy though, stainless is the easiest metal of all to weld! Once you have the technique, that's it - there's no "Oh but it's the first intake he's made". If he knew how to TIG properly, there is no 'excuse' for sloppy welds. Now, if anybody is in Brisbane I'm more than happy to spend some time making an intake for somebody - can't mass produce them but can knock one-offs up. I have done one for Rowan (our time schedules never worked out, hence why it took so long) and done other bits for other members. EDIT: Meh, pointless starting down this tangent again. WAKE UP BUDDy!!! U cant pick up a welder n be a gunn at it STR8 AWAY!! PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!! Every1s been askin for a CAI n now u wana add UR 5 CENTS by telling every1 ur WILLING TO MAKE A ONE OFF INTAKE... WHY NOW??? WHY NOT A YR n a HALF AGO??? I never said you could ;) Isn't he a fabricator of some sort though? I don't exactly know why you're raging at me for offering to help people... Hell, last intake I made I charged in total (minus HPC coating) less than what postage would be for an intake from the states or Japan. But you know, if you don't WANT my help...
  25. Gah, why don't these things get organised for days when I don't have to be up at 6.30 for work the next day? :(
