  1. Exhaust. Stock intake is fine and probably a lot less restrictive than you think.
  2. Same as any NA engine - intake, exhaust, mild cams, don't bother with any head work, etc.

  4. Hate to say it, but the new Navara's **** all over Hilux's for towing.
  5. Mates Hilux had done over a million, had no second gear or brakes (needed to stop it with the handbrake). Only was used for a bush basher, used to rip awesome skids around his farm.

  8. Well, seeing as nobody has actually done one before I thought I'd jump right into it. Cut it after the second cat, 2.25" press-bent (doesn't matter, no bends bigger than 30 degrees in it) system with a 15" resonator and a offset-centre straight-through muffler out the back. Still nice and quiet (slightly louder than factory), but much deeper. Also seems to want to rev more now, could be from losing a bit of weight from removing that stupid factory rear muffler and also that it flows significantly more. Only real problem with doing it was I had to make an extra mount to stop any sideways movement, I enlarged a hole that was in the rear diff housing and put a bolt/nut through there - seemed to work quite well indeed. I can get pics/clips if anybody is interested.
  9. If you're actually after Magnaflow stuff, eBay. You can get it cheaper delivered to your door than we can get it wholesale Looks pretty nice though dude, how does it sound? Going to do a similar setup on a 'stivo in a few weeks, except using a big stainless resonator in the middle of it.

  11. Hey guys, have my parents car for a week while they're on holidays and I've got some spare time. At the moment I'm just going to knock up a catback exhaust system and a cold air intake, has anybody actually done and performance mods on them before? I think it's a 2004 model, know it has a 2AZ in it.
  12. E series are only FWD (AWD in an EP85? Not sure, doesn't matter anyway as it still would be E-W). 4AGE is a simple conversion, if you want cheaper just get a 4A-FE. I have a feeling somebody is selling engine/box mounts for them on Rollaclub... Personally I would ditch the old K40 (I think) transmission and fit a T50 - still cheap and much better.

  14. QFM have just released pads for VE/VZ HSV Commodores, do you happen to know what model Commodore pads fit your car?
  15. Engine mounts and other rubber bushes are just getting harder as the car ages. Not really hard or expensive to replace by any means.
  16. Woo, happy to see you got a car that will treat you right :P I'm almost to the point of flogging the Paseo off, sick of the damn thing. So much needs replacing >.<
  17. Water/meth injection won't do anything for your engine. If you want some fun, strap a T28-ish turbo on there, run 6-7psi of boost and fill her up with E85. Obviously you'll need to go bigger injectors and an aftermarket ECU, but should make some ridiculous power figures.
  18. Need shorter shocks to go with your springs, more than likely. Have you given your exhaust a good bash around? You may have just popped a middle rubber off, which can lead to many noises.
  19. How many people park in gear with the handbrake off? I find I have my foot on the clutch regardless of whether the car needs it or not at startup, safeguarding against silly shift patterns on some boxes.

Alright, oil cooler setup #1 was ordered in, found to be wrong (I didn't realise the thermostatic bypass adaptor wasn't for a remote filter >.<) Sent that bit back, thermostat bypass block and remote mount should be coming in early next week - it thankfully cost the same. Finally remembered to bring my dremel in, I've cut the rear section of rust out and it's all ready to be patched up. I will hopefully have most of the rust sorted this weekend if it all goes to plan...
  21. Hey guys, wondered if we could make a turbo diesel Navara dose, turns out you sort of can. I think it sounds freaking hilarious, plenty of pidgeons and no siiiiiiiiiiiiiik VL's around. It happens every gear change, I sort of feel sorry for the guy driving it CLICK ME!
  22. Good mate, had a really awesome night. More people turned up just as we go outside to wait for a taxi. I think we hit 13 people at one point, much better than just you two and I sitting down spilling drinks on each other :PI saw that band setting up, was going to come back and have a listen but completely forgot. I'm going to organise another one for the start of December, hopefully some more TOCAU people will show up this time.
  23. do you mean ITB's? off the GTi-R? is that lowport or highport? Quads = ITB's. You'd obviously need to make trumpets for them and other bits (TPS, etc) but it should be completely doable. I was under the impression the TB's are slightly bigger than what's on the 20V, which would benefit the 2ZZ as it has more displacement.

  25. Phwoar, in that case I would almost be going through an oil change a month. 1L/1000km seems pretty damn terrible, to be quite honest - my 120000km old engines dipstick reading doesn't change from when I fill it to when I service it.
