  1. I really don't mean any offence by this, but you can't even begin to describe the car as an Aurion. That would be like me saying Brett Stevens old Falcon doorslammers were the best in Australia...
  2. Racing Logic are slightly better, but if you can't afford a 'real' set of coilovers just get some decent slightly lower springs and an adjustable shock. Other alternatives are buying a sleeve kit and a new set of struts to make up a custom set, ends up being comparable to the cheaper coilovers and actually works quite well.
  3. Remove the equaliser and all the crap, even if it means running new speaker wires to your speakers (which serious installs will do anyway).
  4. Why can't you just wheels of the appropriate size and offset...
  5. I'd rather see something of the twin-screw variety, keeping your stock compression and E85 :)
  6. Aha, so that's why you killed Sharpy! Looks amazing dude, you gotta be pleased with the power figures too.
  7. Quaife do anything? Just did a little browse, found a few dead ends... EDIT: Toyota EA series gearboxes might be right up your alley, now I think of it. I'm trying to find some more information as we speak.
  8. Added in my #10, but I completely agree with this list.
  9. Hey dudes, next cocktail night is coming up on the 5th. It's at the Limes Hotel in Fortitude Valley - bar opens at 3pm (wooo!) and as far as I know there's a $10 cover charge. Welcome to come join me and my friends, just let me know if you're coming along. I'll be sure to watch out for Phil throwing drinks at me this time... :P
  10. It won't, I can tell you now. Regularly get people in who want 'sick' sounding exhausts and who want to be different - most come back within a week and ask to have it changed (either from defects or not being able to stand driving their car).
  11. Fixed, but explain properly though? For a complete forged engine, decent ECU, custom plenum, etc you could be looking at well over $10k. For those of us with limited budgets it can be done for a lot cheaper. Ie. Manifold - $600 T28 - $400 Exhaust - $1000 Adaptronic - ~$2000 fitted and installed 2nd hand cooler + piping - $400 Assorted bits and pieces - $400 There you go, less than $5k if you can do the work yourself.
  12. Couldn't have said it better myself, if you can do the work yourself and know where to look you can shave a couple of hundred off that.
  13. Not only is it illegal, it will sound absolutely terrible.
  14. No offence, but it's probably the worst (but coolest) choice for a learners car ever. Make sure it's got good tyres and they've been to at least one defensive driving course as the handling will catch most people by surprise.
  15. Won't be able to solder it ;) If we have to extend O2 wiring we just crimp it.
  16. Don't just eyeball the fuses, check them with a test light or multimeter.
  17. I'm pretty sure Pre-facelift and facelift Corolla's have 4X100 stud pattern. They do, and they fit/look fairly nice.
  18. KU31's should be around that from somewhere decent...
  19. It probably was ;) Really easy to smear some sealant on there, can't hurt anyway.
  20. Did you bed the brakes in correctly?
  21. Get yourself a test light and a speaker popper (ie. two AA batteries with flying leads coming off them). That will cover 99% of headunit installs (especially Japanese cars).
  22. He's in QLD - no engine swaps unless it's the exact same engine, or was offered in that model (but still not turbo or over 200kw). IE. CA > SR into a 180SX is cool as long as you upgrade the rest of the car with the later bits.
  23. Evo VI. You'll never look back. (Yes I'm aware it's too late now) :P
  24. Anybody looked into some of the Kuhmo's? Mates with semi-track cars SWEAR by KU36's and only ~$150 each (if you know the right places)
  25. Response amps are awesome pieces of gear - if I wanted to do a proper system on my car I would be running them hidden under the seats and spending that little bit extra on the speakers/head unit. Even if they only output 900WRMS it's going to make bugger all difference - takes 10x the output in RMS to double the output of the sub, and even then it's only for a split second. From my experience, they are built quite well and have no reliability issues so I wouldn't classify them as a 'cheap' amp, although the price doesn't reflect this. Basically all you want in an amp is high noise rejection and efficiency/stable output, something that I'm fairly sure all the Response amps have.
