  1. Sorry dude- your car looks bloody awesome..and well i'm a bit envious...mmm <_< Btw is the rear skirt on your car the factory sportivo skirt??
  2. I'm very skeptical about the whole idea of supercharging/turbocharging an engine that was not really disigned for it. Sure the engine will be built appropriately for the conversion (you would hope so) but then you have to worry about the breaking system, transmission, clutch, chassis the list goes on...oh yeah and insurance and registration and the police..oh man seriously save the 12 thousand and put it towards a rexie or *salivates* an astra sri.
  3. Like you f$#ggin hypocrites have never gave someone a run on the street before. You cannot honestly say you drive your car to and from work without breaking the speed limit, racing someone off the lights or every now and then throw in some spirited driving around back streets etc...but maybe your right sharmz as every celica owner i have come across drive their car like f#$gging nan and pop on a sunday drive...whats with that.
  4. Zeerolla - did they mod the exhuast tip for you and was it bought painted? Thanks for the reply
  5. How much is the rear skirt? Is there any one in sydney that has it fitted? Who did it? Sorry for the questions.
  6. qkslvr - i have a TRD CAI. Can't seem to find any loose fittings and everything seems to be plugged up. Might try a different angle and go with the injector cleaner ;)
  7. Mine car seems hesitant off the mark now and even more so when the a/c is on. When warming up the car in the mornings i can nearly fully floor the accelerator and there is nothing there.. it seems to want to cut out. As a result i am riding the clutch more to compensate.
  8. The spring rates on the coilovers were too high. We changed them to a softer rate spring (-20 pounds) that i was told would improve ride quality significantly, but alas i was still not happy with the banging and crashing effect that coilovers give (over rough roads that is). I still love the height adjustability but i'd much rather a comfortable ride after 2 months with them on. Thanks for all the replys so far.
  9. Well the coilovers are coming off and i am looking at a spring/shock package now. I know there has been previous discussions on this topic but i need updated info from you guys. Feel free to express thoughts, opinions and any info with what you have or would like on your car. Cheers :)
  10. We know the unichip fits and works and we know the Power FC is obviously better so....what is with your reply <_<
  11. stuart you funny ***** that is a great fairytale...let us all dream about the red phantom tonight and prey it becomes a reality.
  12. Holy hell exec6speed! I would be p#$%ed write off. And as for seeing if they can get a new engine- i would be demanding one. You also mention the pressure plate and flywheel- excuse my ignorance but how did they become damaged?
  13. I believe you peekay :D How's lift with the chip and extractors? Does it kick in sooner or later and is cut out still @ 8200?
  14. OMG youz posers....allz youz need nowz is some fully sick graphics and a crome petrol lid cover...hahahahaha.
  15. You guy'z...i am so jealous! Ilivfor6 sorry to hear about your drama's mate. Just keep thinking about all those Astra SRI Turbo's you will smack at the lights now on Dam astra owned me at the lights the other day..grrrr.. wonder if i can get an extra 3 grand extension on the loan <_<
  16. Exec6speed, do you still have the AEM CAI on your stivo? It does not appear in your sig anymore? Man i feel for you. You should be enjoying your car at this point not having these major drama's in it's early life. I hope everything turns out okay for you :) <michael>
  17. It does not seem worthwhile changing after reading your comments. Whats 2mm! Unless the OEM factory rear sway is hollow I doub't it though.
  18. having little technical knowledge i'm guessing it will improve stiffness and minimise twist of the torsional beam.
  19. Sorry guys just off the subject, trd_141 what pipe diameter and type of muffler you running on the car now? Have you had your car on the dyno re: gains/losses? Thanks
  20. I don't know...too ricey for me and would no doubt attract unwanted attention on the roads. How much anyway orrock?
  21. orrock you are a FOK! That is a Fountain Of Knowledge by the way. How is it that you know so much about things. It's awesome. BTW any tips on picking up girls
  22. Yes i agree. You do need some body roll and it is the front that i want to minimise too. The coilovers have improved this substantially though so prob just the strut brace to add and thats it.
  23. Having read and heard varying reports and opinions on sway bars i may not opt for the rear sway now. It may very well improve body roll and such but inturn will highly stress the mounts or even rip from the OEM factory mounts. Our car was not designed for that kind of tauntness or at least i don't think so. It is more at the front that you want a tight setup. I have a kmac FSB and yes it did improve handling initially but i have gotten use to it so the fun has worn off. They are an absolute pain in the behind to install- it took two guys about 5 1/2 hours. But it was a prototype so they had to make it from scratch. I have learnt a great deal about suspension just by asking questions and spending thousands of dollars :(
  24. If anyone else is interested in purchasing the strut brace and sway bars, maybe we can organise a group buy thang. Surely whiteline can offer a reasonable discount if there are a few of us?
