  1. Relax xTigerx, the fun factor outweighs these small niggles which every new car gets. If you buy new models, there are always niggling issues that will be rectified by the time last models run out. This model although available in Europe for a few years, i dont think was manufactured in SA for that long, so there are issues. Nothing major though man, we just like it all PERFECT, unfortunately these cars are mass produced, and the damn engine revs really high so vibrations are always gona occur. Dont worry, relax and when you get your car, you will already know what can go wrong(thanx to us :D ), but dont call this car a Lemon, it's a Toyota, they never have, and never will make lemons.
  2. What's soo good about it mate? did some blondie drive it? :D
  3. Last nite i realised for the first time that i'm getting the vibration noise too . I havent heard it before until then and it occurs when im changing gears around 2500-3000 revs in second and third gears only. Not alot of noise but annoying nevertheless. Surely Toyota Australia knows about the problem but are turning a blind eye for now. Hopefully they rectify the problem for new Sportivo's ariving in the country and fix the problems for our rattlers.
  4. Ok mate, to be honest i dont think it's the brake pads alone. I have that whooing noise myself only when i engage the clutch and brake together to move uphill for example, soon an i release the brake to step on the throttle, the car rolls back wards and the noise appears. My next service is due early next year, so i'll let them have it :D.
  5. It sounds about normal, although mine revs at 3400 at 100Kph, which i think is a bit high.
  6. I dunno bout you guys, but i try to keep my interior spotless, and the leather trim shiny etc. I have used Armorall for leather and found it quite crap, and the shine lasted 2 days. What brands do you guys use to keep the interior spanking new?
  7. Yeah mate, BIG TIME, I thought the gearbox was stuffing up but I changed the Fuel and it's back to it's normal ***** kicking best. I found it hard to change, and i think it's because the car is under more stress and strain and the forces distribute throughout the whole drivetrain. In hi-cam mode, the car seems to run out of breath on crap fuel, and it takes ages to accelerate and it's very rough. Change fuel mate, you will see the difference. I puty Mobil, and it's alot smoother than Optimax in terms of revving.
  8. The reason for that is because we have Crap fuel, in Japan they have 100ron and it's cleaner than ours so their cars run much better.
  9. You gotta be kidding me you waited for a few weeks, try four months mate, that was a long wait <_< but worth it. Welcome to the club :D if you have any issues concerning the car let us know about it. Keep on Quacking
  10. I used to own a silika a few years, 85 model RWD, IRS, 2.4 SOHC 22r-e engine, drove very very good indeed, the tacho was showing 4 grand at 180kph (cruising). Some prick totaled it around Xmas 2000 . My first car, the memories will always remain (especially having to explain the foot prints from the back windows to my missus :D ). Chicks just love Celicas, must be the name
  11. I reached top speed in 4th on the way to work, it was about 175-180, couldnt see properly i was too busy looking at the road, but it felt pretty good, smooth as silk, the car should easily do 220 as toyota claims, maybe even more.
  12. Well i dunno guys but a bad batch like the optimax i had made the car vibrate alot, and the vibrations went all the way through the gearbox, as it become really notchy and i couldnt shift properly in high cam mode, i hope i never experience that againit was shocking. I filled up with Mobil and i have a new car again :D , revs smoother, gearbox is back to normal, the whole car feels great again. And power is back like it should be.
  13. My pics are up at cardomain http://www.cardomain.com/id/lucio
  14. I filled my tank halfway with Shell Optimax on the weekend and the car feels really slugish and less powerful hi cam mode and it doesent rev as smooth as before either. Could it be a bad batch of fuel coz it hasent happened before? What fuel do you guys recommend?
  15. Thats allrite man, you should be getting some nice sound out of it. Do you know how many decibels it puts out at idle? Now you need Cold Air :D .
  16. I picked mine up for $24,980 driveaway, which included paint protection. Four month wait though.
  17. And post meets under the Events Meets section
  18. Make sure you guys take pics of the cars and meet and post them so we can have a small interstate comp on who gets more people to come, so far we had about 5 or 6 on our second Melbourne meet. Cheers
  19. Whiteline strut brace was $A 180, i bet Peekay paid less.
  20. No you dont, it's a normal car man. If you rev past 3, you more than move around, and wen you get to 6000, you basically explode and all hell breaks loose. Thats why this car is soo practical in my opinion, it's got normal manners for everyday use and low fuel consumption, or it can make you feel like youre a racecar driver if you want to drive it hard. And let me tell you people get a big surprise :D . If you want heaps of pulling power down low, then get a boring typical v8 or turbo, but if you want explosive in your face F1 sounds and revs, get a 2zz-ge powered machine.
  21. Since this is a new forum, i think owners of the corolla sportivo should post a reason to why someone new to the forum interested in the car should buy it. My reason...............IT'S FAST!!!!!!! and it's only 1.8 N/A :o :o
  22. :o :o What? i think i got it for retail, it's around 200 bucks, what did you pay for it?
  23. Hey guys let me know as well, im interested, more for looks than performance, although a few extra ponies always helps. I also ordered my whiteline strut brace today from Repco, thanks Paul for the info, should be getting it before x-mas. As for the extractors, they cost way too much.
