hmmm i got slightly confused with a few past posts but now i realise that the whole topic isnt only engine oils you guys are commenting on gear oils too i think ill leave that one to the professionals actually now that i think about it when changing gear oils for the stivos is there anything you need to be careful of i mean like is it as simple as dumping the oil and filling i back up again with the right gear oil OR is there a special additive you need to put with it as i know some cars need additives mixed with the gear oils too to keep the transmission smooth and stop it from braking basicly LOL i ask this cus i have a friend mechanic who can do all that stuff for me anyways

i wouldlove to go see leanne race again it would be even better if she jumped back into the v8 supercars again personal preference really im a v8 man LOL (i drive a 4 cylinder haha) but i have my reasons for that at the moment i used to drive a v8

yeah but i think that the fan inside the CAI pipe will make a significant difference for only a couple of dollars it destroys the whole restriction problem cus its just being forced in so i dont really see why its such a joke its gotta be better than just having a pipe with a pod free flowing now its being forced as for buying a turbo while im at it getting a $140 fan fitted for a half decent responsive gain is alot cheaper than going a $10,000 custom turbo kit besides i wanna stay N/A so every little bit helps doesnt it when it gets to the stage where you have done everything you can to get power and its all N/A and you fall say 5kw short of your goal then i bet that fan inside the CAI will get you probably about 5kw im not saying its awesome or nothing but when putting power in an N/A car everything helps that little bit EDIT yes i know i have used the words forced and N/A key comment using the fan as a form of forced induction but i dont think it can really be counted as a NON N/A part i think anyways

yeah i know somone releasing one sometime REAL soon too most likely is the same place they told me there fitting a CAI to a rolla i think yesterday and was gonna let me know how they went for gains via e-mail

hmmm i would love to get a chip and tune but im looking at around $700 fitted and tuned arent i also where would a good place to go for this package keep in mind im in penrith or the western suburbs area to make it easier i sorta dont have that kinda cash just laying around LOL oh and as for your comment early ROLLAMODS about the stereo loom i never really looked at it that way so i guess they can void your warranty for almost anything no matter how far away it is from the parts sorry mate everyone just ignore what i said just before that post LOL

hmmmmm seems like 10W30 is the way everybody is going and i beleive you all when you say thats what toyota recomends but just for my own peace of mind ill call them tomoz morning before i buy the oil and change it just to be certain as for brand i have herd ALOT of good things about a brand of oil not very common to many people at all its called royal purple and it cant be baught hardly anywhere but i used it in my UTE and it felt vewry smooth so i guess i am gonna go the Royal Purple again for the STIVO too and ill just drop into penrith toyota and grab an oil filter off them too does anybody recommend an oil flush to be used or should i not worry about it cheers guys

ok what exactly is KNOCK since i put my zorst on my motor seems to be tapping well it always did but now its louder and a little more often it could possibly be the exhaust tapping but this will be checked out next saturday so i just wanna know what should i be doing to get my motor looked at to make sure its still in tune and not about to blow without spending big bucks cheers

hmmm but that means it would be REALLY thin wouldnt it in saying that, that might be why our motors are so damn noisy im always hearing different knocks and rattles that come and go from the motor people just say its a noisy motor also probably doesnt help that i still have the iriginal drive in oil in it wich is really thinlike water hey considering the way i drive i wanna change the oil PRETTY soon but i dont want it to be too thin or too thick thats all

not always thats like saying changing the cd player viods your motor cus the whole car initially starts the the electrics and the starter motor is electric which can be affected by the cd player then it cld do something wrong when starting the motor and blow that up to so somehow i dont think it is a simple as that if you have a CAT back system it doesnt void your motor warranty ( well i dont think anyways) i wanna put a sports steering on so your saying if i crash cus the shocks and springs somehow fall out and the passenger bag doesnt go off then the whole car is viod due to the sports wheel affecting the air bags capabilities not having a go im just trying to make clear what im saying thats all :D

yeah i did read the owners manual but it pretty much says depending on tempreture use each different oil now you dont change your oil every day according to ouside temp do you so of all the peoples who drive stivos out there what do they use i am assuming 20W50 or 15W40 cheers :D

as far as im aware i dont think they have alist of stuff that isnt genuine that has been fitted onto your car cus if it comes down tot it just change it back before you take it to them when the motor blows the best thing to do is call toyota and ask to speak to the warranty officer and tell him what you wanna do and ask what exactly doesit viod he doesnt need to know wh you are also for your own peace of mind fit it after the service just to be sure

no i have spoke to toyota about this before basicly whatever part you change then only that part gets vioded BUT be careful cus if other parts break and its caused by the new part then that gets vioded too so its a very touchy topic if they wanna be pricks they can viod you and just tell you it was because of that part and you wont really know unless you have a freind mechanic look at it first so that way you can show them you know whats going on and they think we better not lie he knows what hes talking about i hope that all makes sense

Better still use car ramps. Drive on/ Reverse Off. 1ZZ-FE Oil capacity is 3.7 Litres (when you change the filter) No idea about 2ZZ-GE. Well done Orrock ! ← lol sounds pretty simple but the car NEEDS to be level before re filling the oil thats a MUST DO so reversing off the ramps with no oil doesntreally sound like a good idea but YES im sure you could give it a nudge and just roll it off :)

ok sweet thats good the do you use the genuine toyota oil filter or do you use a different one also what oil and what grade ( i was thinkning 20W50 or 15W40 is that right) do i use for my car i wouldnt have clue also whats the best brand that most people like to use

ok i wanna do a basic oil change every half warranty service period in doing so thy cant really tell can the and then viod my warranty im not gonna change the filter ill just do a basic dump then re-fill its just for that little bit of extra protection makes me feel a bit better that way so is it a good idea or will they say hey we didnt change that oil and its different to the oil we ue and then say you dont have warranty anymore go away

lol its on haha hey im gonna change my oil before the night as ive only done 4000km so it hasnt been done yet from the warranty service but i wanna do it before i go out racing they arent really gonna know i changed the oil are they and void my warranty i wont change the filter or anything ill just drain it then fill it again just a basic change better than no change at all

Leanne Ferrier used to race the V8 supercars in the KONICA cup for the valvoline commodore team with at the time jason bargwanna and garth tander obviously being her partners racing in the supercar series i remember watching her at oran park and she kicked ***** until she crashed all three races lol she started last in 1 race and she gained 3 positions like every lap or 2 until she crashed in the last few laps and she did this in all 3 races last race she had the****s and she did a MASSIVE smoke show as she took off from the starting line LOL
