  1. Inspected only. The front pads have 5K kms left in them, the rear were better.
  2. My 90K service is done. Labour was $150. After getting the $900+ quote I thought they must've done a heap of other stuff, other than the spark plugs @ $240 and $100 labour. The invoice includes: a minor service, lots of inspections, wheel rotation, oil and filter changes, including air filter. brake fluid flush. Did they miss anything that should've been done d'ya think?
  3. I'm finally due for the 90K service. I bought the plugs 8/13 as above when the $OZ was good. Plugs x 6 via USA ebay is still OZ$125.37, so I saved a grand total of <$10. Today the local place quoted $550, the local dealer was $950. Both quotes included $40 per plug. So if they're charging $240 + $100 for plugs and installation, at $340 there's still $600+ left. What else does the dealer do that requires $600? Oils /air&oil&cabin filters /brake flush....what else?
  4. Does it have a gps? The function might be in there?
  5. Thanks. Despite recent attempts at resuscitation the battery died in the MCG carpark on Anzac Day, so it'll get a new battery tomorrow. Cheers
  6. Thankyou. Just the info I was after. I have managed to start the car as the float charge overnight has the battery at 13.35v now. I will ensure I have jumper cables for "just in case" and your suggestion is probably what will eventually replace this curent battery. This one is into its 7th year without much care, so that's a reasonablw trial! Cheers
  7. Howdy. 2007 Aurion, still with the original battery. The car has been garaged for 2 weeks whilst I was away. Today it's battery is flat, giving a clack-clack-clack sound at ignition on. Before doing anything else, using a dvm the battery reads 10.95 at the posts. I've checked the cells and 4/6 have low water levels. That's been corrected with a distilled water top-up of each cell. It's now on a float charge with cell caps off and the battery posts remain connected. I intend to continue the charge overnight then take it for a drive tomorrow. Anything further to add from anyone? If this battery is toast, and it's old enough to be, I'm happy enough to stick with the cheaper lead acid. Any suggestions? Car is in eastern 'burbs of Melbourne, close to Ringwood. Cheers
  8. The knock might be ...http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/23623-aurion-intermediate-shaft-spline/ The tyre noise leaving at higher speeds might have something to do with change of shape with centrifugal forces???
  9. Black and blue take a power of time to keep clean. White much less so. But I hate washing cars and spending money to do so is even worse!
  10. Would've been helpful. Aurion_Towbar_Wiring_Harness.pdf.PdfCompressor-894151.pdf
  11. Might be.... http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/23623-aurion-intermediate-shaft-spline/
  12. I've just asked the local dealer re: costs for the 75K and 90K service. They're $350 & $900. Another local garage I've used and have been happy with have quoted $150 and $550. Spark plugs at $37.50 each. I've just bought 6 via ebay for $117 delivered from the USA. An immediate $100+ saving.
  13. It's too hard to find a vein in blue light!
  14. Thanks for those links. I've bought one of the HK ones. I'll compare it to the ones I've just installed in both cars.
  15. I just installed this...http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Cabin-Air-Filter-RCA164P-TOYOTA-Aurion-Camry-Corolla-Prius-/150849187616?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item231f4fef20 Looked and felt essentially the same as the oem, maybe not as stiff in the sidewall. 5 minute job.
  16. Changed mine yesterday. Filter from an ebay seller less than half the Toyota cost. The job took about 5 minutes. Very straightforward. The old filter was worse than the ones pictured...probably more than 40K old.
  17. Yeah, I thought it may need a regas, but wanted to check if anyone had a similar problem that had a simple fix. The car has done 65K and my other one has 69K and still works fine.
  18. Thursday during a drive in 30+ temps the aircon was useless. Set on feet/chest, fan high, coldest setting the car was hot. Set to chest only it was better, but still not as cold as the aircon in my other Aurion. There was a hint of an unusual odour also, not one I've smelled before. Any ideas?
  19. Thanks. I did a search of the forums but used 60000 km service or something like that. Only found something for a Corolla. Cheers
  20. I've done a search looking for details on a 60K service. No success unfortunately. What do they do? Anything special?
  21. Today I replaced the blown cig and pwr outlet fuses in one Aurion. Too easy. Unfortunately, I've had to do both cars recently. I booked the other one in for it's 60K service.
  22. I don't have a black Aurion. I have the Caribean Blue colour. I'll never buy a dark coloured car again. They look great on the show room floor, all clean and shiney, but maintenance is a real chore, and fraught with swirls....
  23. Thanks.I've been aware of the origin of the noise, and they've told me the extent of the work. It's still under warranty. The car was serviced yesterday and I told them the issue again. It was first mentioned 15000ks ago. Warranty was mentioned.."we'll need to talk to Toyota".
  24. I have a 2008 Prodigy. It's just had it's last service under the extended warranty period (60K ks). At the 45K service it was noted by me that the start up rattle was loud, more so than not, but not always. It even did it when I started the car after collecting it from the service. Anyhow, today it still does it, more so, and louder. I mentioned it again at this last service. What are the chances d'ya think of getting it sorted under warranty?
