  3. From the ebay blurb... Whatever the cost...he'd be making a killing with every sale.
  4. Mr. Sheen is an easy to find silicone based spray. Give it a blast.
  5. Can the Citroen hydropneumatique system be modded onto these I wonder?
  6. The HS250H Lexus hybrid has a very similar lateral profile to the Aurion. hs250h lexus article.
  7. PsychcoRez...I'm guessing you pay pittance for petrol in Bahrain? How much per litre for 95 and 98??
  8. Yep, that's what the salesman told me! :D I discarded the comment as I thought it was just sales rhetoric to help get a deal done. Then my bro in law said the same, and he's a Toyota dealer employee. So, can anyone tell me how the Lexus (which one) can be seen in the Aurion? What are the similarities? Build, chassis, anything?
  9. 3M double sided tape, very clean surface, light and even pressure on the badge for a few minutes will work best, whilst not compromising the paint. The 3M stuff is brilliant. I've used silicone to paste badges to motorcycle engines and they're still there after 100K ks, tolerating the heat and vibration. Not sure what the silicone will do to paint though.
  10. given 620 + 512 total ks = 1132ks...before the light comes on. therefore 2 tanks to the light on (presuming 10 litres left) = 60litres x 2 =120litres total use 1132/120=9.4ks per litre. 100ks/9.4 = 10.6litres/100ks. town use 512/60=8.53ks/litre. 100ks/8.53=11.72l/100ks hwy use 620/60=10.3ks/litre. 100ks/10.3=9.7l/100ks. Am I confusing the calcs here? PaulMT..I think your calcs are ks/litre, not litre/100k. I thought it was 10litres left? My calcs above rely on this number. If it is 15, then my numbers above will be even better. eg total ks 1132/110litres = 10.2. 100/10.2= 9.7litres/100ks
  11. I am yet to have this issue with my Aurion, though I have had it on my motorcycles in the past. Heat, and uneven cooling was the culprit. After a fun mountain blast, with heavy braking in corners etc and getting the discs hot, when coming to a stop it's advisable to not hold the pads on the same spot on the disc. That creates a hot spot and can encourage slight warpage which you'll feel as a pulsation thru the brakes. Best to allow the pads to move off the one spot..eg, at lights if facing downhill just stop a little further back and slowly allow the car to roll forward a little...or backwards if facing uphill. Or, use the handbrake..
  12. Would any other Toyota share this part I wonder?
  13. Variables to consider... Tyre pressure? What petrol? Aircon on? right foot. hills stopping/starting. load. On the freeway you should be able to get 8-9litres/100ks, but the right foot needs control. If so, maybe <8. Really. The first warning light comes on when about 10 litres is left I believe....so you calculate your needs according to your own petrol use habits.
  14. In the Aurion (and other cars with the feature as well) the airbags deploy from the side portion of the seats. The seat material itself is constructed so that when the airbag deploys, it will break through the material easily. If you put seat covers over it that aren't designed properly, they can alter the way that the airbag deploys by causing it to inflate in the incorrect direction, slowing down inflation time (which in an accident is extremely critical; the airbag can inflate in as little as 70 milliseconds), or prevent it from fully inflating at all. Seat covers that are designed for such use will have special stitching, perforations, and/or weakened areas in the position of the airbag so that the airbag will push though it with ease and inflate correctly. For ease of identifying, your seat airbag deploys near the location indicated by the 'SRS SIDE AIRBAG' tag attached to the seat. For lack of a better image, you can see in this illustration the side seat airbag which deploys just above the area indicated by the tag on the seat: Thank you. Excellent reply.
  15. Will this model car become a long term investment? It's not a GTHO or the like, so my thinking has it as a very decent fast car with a few bits and pieces for comfort and convenience. If you pay $45k for it now, what do you expect to get for it in 5, 10 or 15 years time? Generally, most cars will depreciate x 80-90% in 10 years. Occasionally something surprises that scenario, like the GTHO. With them ceasing TRD production now, it will become a limited model...it has that in it's favour. I seriously doubt it'll be worth any more than $30k in 5 years though. Time will tell. What does a low k 2nd hand first year TRD sell for now? In answer to your original question, I'd buy the trd, but I'd haggle hard for the extras you want.
  16. Can someone describe the exact issue with the wrong seat covers and the air bag effects please? How does the cover cause the issue? Thanks.
  17. My June '07 Aurion, purchased at 18K and 12 months of age, gets the $120 deal.
  18. Can you do the caribbean blue with stock wheels painted gold? Sort of wrx style? I wouldn't do it to mine but I saw a wrx today and just wondered.... B) Here's my very poor effort. The gold isn't quite what I had in mind but I find the lines were easier after a beer! esexsix..apologies for the car theft. :o
  19. spelling mistake?....yea thats my fav too. looks..looks...silly typo. That last one looks great! Something for a 14 yo to practice towards...
  20. The middle picture likes very likely...I like it.
  21. Where's the picture? :) edit...they took a long line to load! Interesting look...the cabin looks too short and vertical at the back, but if it were longer then the tray would look too short also. The side door to the tray might be a nice innovation... ;)
