difference between sportivo engines

Recommended Posts

I just emailed an add on car sales about a sportivo for sale. This is a 2003 model one.

The owner responded in the email with this (i have the zz123R engine in my sportivo which is the higher

and better kilowatt engine...) Hmmm is this really the case? Or is she just trying to make a sale.

Yeah. that's accurate up to point. The ZZ123R is the model/chassis code for the Sportivo. I think what he means to say is that he has the 2ZZ-GE engine which has more power than the "regular" Corolla i.e 140Kw rather than 100Kw.

The Sportivo also has a 6 speed manual box as apposed to the 5speed found in the other Corollas.

Hope this helps and i hope you buy the Sportivo. :toast:

Is it the white one with '154 kW' or the silver one with '147 kW' you are talking about?

Either way they don't know what they are talking about. Unless they have cracked the engine open and stroked and/or cammed them they won't make that power at least without having a noticeable turbo of Supercharger bolted on. All Sportivos come with the 141 kW engine (about 110kW at the wheels) if they tell you otherwise they are either not telling you something, or they are flat out lying and don't know what they are talking about.

secondly... just buy mine :P

Or you buy one from Queensland as we seem to have the ones with the higher output :toast: The further south you get the slower they are :P :P :P :P :P

Well apparantly the earlier 03 sportivo's are supposedly better because of a slightly larger exhaust manifold design. But it hasn't been proven to produce squat. But just to make myself happy I have the earlier 03 models :whistling:

Dylan what would you know? Clearly a Dyno print out is the exact equivilant of ones pen!s.

PS buy dylans sportivo, you wont be sorry!

At the moment Dylan's is a bit pricey for me. I could have bought a nice white 2004 model one for $19000 with lower kilometres but he wouldn't budge from that price so i found a cheaper one that ended up being dodgy so i will just wait for the next bargain to come. I'm considering travelling maybe to Casino up North for the one that is claiming 154kws. It has alot of good extras like rims, CAI and also lowered springs which i would be doing to my car anyways. I'm a bit concerned why it ain't selling at the price it is now with under 50000kms on the clock.

ZZ123R sportivo corolla has the 2ZZ-GE motor with 141kw

the ZZ122R corolla has the 1ZZ-GE motor with 105kw

downsides

*paying $25 odd grand for a corrolla...

*insurance may be high

* they are one of the most common cars for rebirths

* they are INTERFERENCE motors .. not that it will matter any time soon :P

upsides

* they are corollas FTW!

*reliable quick cars with decent handling and looks

* 4 door 5 seaters ( fuk honda.. YEAH!)

*leather interior thats not 2 bad and pretty comfortable

* and my mum who is almost 60 drives my sister 05' model one and absolutely loves everything about it :)

my sisters one was stolen from our front yard whilst warming up just a few seconds after she came back inside to get her hand bag .... we got it back with only a few interior parts missing so it was all good ( insurance rules ! ... not always the case :P ) so keep all that in mind and weigh out your options

good luck

Car yards are alwayds ridiculously priced. I went and checked out an 05 model in Narellan about 3 weeks ago at Toyota and the dealer wanted to sell the car for $26990 isn't that how much they sold for brand new. Only benefits i see is the warranty that comes with the car.

1ZZ-FE rather than GE. Came with 100kw with the throttle cable or 93kw later on with the drive by wireto meet emissions

and they are all ZZE's not ZZs

And wasn't it the ZZW30R that came with the 103kW 1zz-fe :P
