advise with performance upgrade

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I have got a Corolla sedan, Conquest.

On specs, its got 100KW. I imagine its miles away from the performance of a VVTL-i engine.

I want to know if there r any place where i can modified the computer of the car so when I use optimax i will experience some difference.

I currently use optimax for my car because it will protect the engine. But feel absolutely no difference with the performance. the engine does sound less noisy over 4000rpm but still its noisy.

I don't want to put in visible mods because i may void the warranty.

I just want something that give my car a bit more kick. especially when overtaking

please advise.

James

Agree with northy ;)

But if you want something that is able to be pulled out at a minutes notice and they are none the wise? then look to MAP81's install of the Greddy E-manage system.

Greddy E-manage

Him and his bro Rollamods did a great job wiring this baby up and doing it in such a way as to not splics or dmamge any of the stock wiring/loom

the difference between 1zz and 2zz is 41 kw and if you have auto you lose a lot or power through the drivetrain.

warranty is one thing but how about insurance? map81 greddy emange installation is ingenius. if that installation is too much work for you then you could get your computer chipped.

now out is the 32 bit version of the unichip which gives more tuning points over the old 16 bit.

Just make the engine breath better.

A Cold Air Intake or Sports Exhaust will give you that bit more that you're after. Warranty issues will only apply to the particular component you've modified, so for example if you change a muffler, Warranty on the Exhaust will be voided.

But if you really don't want any visual change then stick to an ECU upgrade. And yes the installation Rollamods & MAP81 did is very good! ;)

Totaly agree the greddy emanage would be great or a Unichip with adapter plugs. I have a Unichip which they spliced into the wiring loom :( . MAP81's way of doing it was the best way I have seen it done to date. If you have any issues just unplug no one would be the wiser.

thank u all, for the tips,

I guess for power increase, i really need performance exhaust, and possibly a sport filter.

put in the Greddy management system and I will probably get significant performance increase.

thanks for the tips!
