Hey my stivo's 6 stacker wont play burnt cd's anymore. It comes up with Error 1 which according to the handbook means dirty disc which is not the case.

Can your standard decks play em? If so what type and brand of CDs do you use?

Im pretty sure i read somewhere there is a TSB (Toyota fix) for celica decks with errors reading CDRs, and im pretty sure it was in a few other model cars to but they came up with some solution...speak to your dealer though and find out what the go is. From memory the problem wasnt that it didnt recognise them it was that after a while it just stopped picking them up as music cds and could not play any CDRs...

I use those dirt cheap i-media cdrs from strathfield car radio - seems to work okay for me.

my levin plays cdrs with no problems at all. unless scratched or dirty.

all the cd's i buy..i always make a back up so that just incase it get's stolen or scratched, etc.

so i hope the stivo will play CDR's..coz that's all i carry.

Thanks for the response boys.

I called Toyota and they are ordering me a new stacker so hopefully that will fix it.

Hey, same problem, i have a temporary sollution for myne. i wait till it comes up with the track and i press next track a few times and it skips forward and plays instead of comming up with 'error1' or what ever the error is. but its getting harder and harder. dono if its worth buying a single din and a pocket instead.

5 years too late....

Single Din, or even double din are so inexpensive these days anyway so you might as well pick one up instead of stuffing around with the current errors
