Painting brake calipers

Hi guys,

For those of you who have got your brake calipers painted, could you tell me where you guys get it done in Sydney and what sort of price should I be looking at?

DIY - it's not that hard a job

I would go DIY if I knew where to start :( problem is I don't have any idea how to take the calipers off the car.. unless someone's kind enough to help this noob out :D

dont really recommend it, but i just freestyled it with a piece of cardboard and a can of high temp paint.

Nah its all good, don't need to take the callipers off to paint them just make sure u mask the rotor up nice a proper otherwise youll have flecks of paint spat onto your rims for months.

And yes I'm also lazy

yeh all you gotta do is preperation, mask up all the parts of the rotor and surrounding areas you dont want painted, use newspaper to cover you guards. Clean the caliper with Degreaser and a steel brush thorougly. Wash off all of the degreaser, let it dry WELL, then give it light coats of paint, heatproof offco****.

lols i know some people who charge 100 bucks and they provide the paint, if u want from cabra area

but yeah LOL i heard it is pretty easy (havent tried myself)

Once exams are over in 3 weeks I'll have plenty of time to do these things.

Paint brake calipers, change console leds and dash leds. I'm thinking blue to match my headunit

And many other DIY tasks :D

lol, i'm lasy too so i got a kit from repco, and you brush paint them, no need for messy spraypainting. less tapeing.

the kit was $45, should be easy, don't need to pay $100's
