89 Celica Air Filter

Hey guys this is my first post,

I have a 89' celica thats stock atm, and the first thing I want to do is

get more air into the engine. Ive been looking at getting a k&n pod

and running a pipe to the front of the engine bay where the grill

is to get cold air in. Another option would be just to buy a high flow

filter and chuck it into the existing box. Is there a better option out of

the two? Coz the high flow filter would be no work and cheaper, but im

guessing its only slightly better because its still getting warm air?

Cheers!

Yeah he/she is deciding to get the cai or just use another filter on the stock airbox, People with corollas have been putting cai's in and you can feel the difference at higher revs

so is the difference between them that the CAI is a filter of some sort but its located where it will suck in cold air from outside the engine bay like the front of the grill facing outside? and the other on eis just using a filter of some sort in the same place the stock one is, making no difference but a diff noise?

yep thats right,

Cai= new pipe new filter at different position, You will feel that its abit slower when you take off & you have to let it warm up abit

Or just get a new filter that fits in your stock setup already.

or you can get SRI (Short Ram Intake), Which is a short pipe that is better for acceleration.I dont know how much better because i dont own one, But its shorter so that means its closer to engine and warmer
