Hi all,

Been wanting to get my headers port and polished and trying to take out the headers myself

i have jsut about pulled off all the bolts, however have noidea how to pull the headers out.

Has anybody done it or observed a mechanic doing it? im pretty sure they will not come out from the top.

Apparently when I was getting mine done, the guys had to take out/loosen the steering rack to get it out.

Not 100% though

Edit: Make sure you have a new gasket aswell as they are crush to seal.

you need to remove the rear engine mount to get it out im fairly sure.......i had one look under our cars and thought...........yeah def not a DIY ill pay the $60 to get it done

yea, i thought it would have been plain black and white simple and now wishing i paid a mechanic to take it off

this heat in melbourne doesnt really make it much easier

will keep you guys updated

Mine were taken out from the top, and put back in from the top.

having spider man do the job doesnt count

I port them for people over here in New Zealand you can send me yours if you like I only charge $100 to port

Takes 1hour to get them out .5 to put back in. Its easiest to take them out the top

Hey guys,

weather was slightly more forgiving this arvo so finished off taking the headers out.

drove up onto some ramps, got underneath the car and undid the rest of the bolts.

taking out the headers was a piece of cake, i found that i had to undo some bolts to where the cables were connected to the engine and slipped them out the top

again thanks for the help guys
