$2295 is for prestige plate where you can choose what ever combination of letters/numbers and that is for life. That is the price you have to pay the company that does the plates, not off another person. It comes with a proper plate holder and protector, not just a flimsy piece of metal. People buy and sell, make money on these type of plates all the time. I got a set too and I say its worth it since it is yours forever. Was going to buy the limited edition 7 letter ones for 3.3k but someone took my combination!!! Or You can get the cheaper versions for like $500 once off payment.

It appears to be around 80%. Seriously, with the cost of their personalised plates ($475 for up to 9 characters, which I think MAY be a once off only fee) you would think it was made from chocolate.

But yeah, it all comes down to whether or not you're willing to pay to be different. I personally think that my $2295 plate was crazy, but there was no other way I could get it. This is why when I see someone with a plate like 'SMILE5', I laugh because they spent so much money on a knock-off because someone else out there has 'SMILES'. It's just not worth wasting money like that.

yea i agree.

did you get yours at an auction or online site?

thats because they were already taken right and the guy was selling them?

if i want to order like 4 number plates. to sell can i do that????

or that is what they changed right? i remember you could do that back in the day, but not anymore.

I bought mine directly from the only personalised plate issuer in Queensland; PPQ. The prestige plates cost that much (they used to be $1695 a few years back). In Queensland, it is a once-off fee with no annual fees. The prestige plates are the one that allows you up to 6 alpha-numeric characters in any order you want. Otherwise, you can get plates starting from $415 by choosing a three letter/two number combination.

well i just ordered mine off nsw rta.

30 bucks fee. and i have to wait until they get made.

then ill pick them up and advertise them for sale asap hehee.

i really wanted a japanese word i love and looks awesome. but i figured ill try and make some money out of this plate first, since no one has taken it and it looks good.

for eg if i bought TAKEN. its not 7AKEN ot T4KEN or TAK3N etc.

i hope i can get some good money out of it ehehe

Its harder to sell plates thta you have to pay an annual fee as compared to outright though!
