I had a chat to one of the local dealers about changing the '03-'04 Corolla Sportivo's electric windows to the same style as the '05 model. ie all 4 windows are auto like the current divers windows we all know and love.

here is an email which I asked them to send me after a phone call today.

Hi Craig,

To have all four windows auto up and also automatically going up when the car is locked you are looking at $275 per car fitted.

Thank you

I am double checking these details and seeing if the buttons get replaced with the word 'AUTO' on them with the green LED as per the '05 model.

I will keep you all posted but this is pretty good so far dont you think?

Also this is a dealer ONLY special. Other dealers may charge more/less so if your interested please shop around and let the rest of us know.

boys, if your willing to spend $600 on auto up when car is locked

viper car alarm can be fitted by your local autobarn

you get the fine alarm system and also auto up when car is locked. same deal as autolock activates auto up.

as for blue_rolla.... mate it wouldn't be worth leccy wins unless you have money to splurge... shoulda just spent an extra $5k

like me i shoulda just spent the extra $5k to buy a stivo instead of a conquest... i am ******..

oh well life goes on. i still like my 1zzfe

alarm system is already fitted and intergrated into the factory remote. dont want another remote for just arming and windows ;)

at 275 its a good feature...600 though is a bit steep :(

yeah should of backed off on the upgrade.

i don't have alarm just yet. but viper remote can control lock, wouldn't need standard remote.

although 600 is steep for the quality of the alarm its not bad and you get auto up

Craig-San...

Had a whisper to my leccy mate on Friday about the auto-up/down facility, and he is getting me a price for what he can do.

He advised me that there is away he can fit a relay (going as fas as about to draw the wiring diagram for me on the back of a beer coaster at the pub :D ) into the door so it can not be seen, and easily removed if required.

He should have some pricing for me by the weekend.

I hope to be having the quick release plugs for my sub-box and amp fitted on Saturday, so I will be talking to him again then....

Yes, I will be mentioning those magic 2 words to him :P

Updates to come...

Cheers

I found out there's a control unit that can be fitted to the car to do the auto up windows function. I'm enquiring about the pricing at the moment, when the guy gets back to me, I'll let you know. This could be an extra cool function to be added into the sportivo

:D

I think to change the power window buttons to one touch up/down, may require a little more mod. I think you might need to change the buttons too, because those buttons are two stages buttons.

Hi KT - With the single stage button though, when hitting it once, it will auto-down, and quickly tapping it up will stop it, and the same for the up motion. One touch up and push ithe button down to pause it..

This is the way my Auto Electrician mate suggested he could wire it anyway as to use the existing buttons

Cheers

I went to northfield and they do car alarms too. but apparently, you can get this window module and it allows the up and function using the viper remote as stated earlier. Sounds quite cool. You can also have it so pushing one button all 4 windows go down. They were charing around 200 per window or pair of windows or something. can't quite remember, but if you go to Ebay and type in window module, there selling quite cheaply. I dont think the Northfield guys are aware you can buy cheaper stuff at Ebay. But yeah, worth a look.

I must say, 4 windows going up and down aith 1 k range (range on vipers remote) is quite impressive
