Damn, 1.4 litre supercharged and turbocharged engine pushing 132kW and 250Nm of torque at 2000-4500 RPM.

That certainly seems like a hot little hatch. At 1190kg, that thing would go like the clappers.

132kW... Impressive. Looking at it makes my Corolla feel so overweight.

So that's 120kg lighter, 32kW more power, and 75Nm more torque at 2400RPM earlier. Definitely seems like a car to consider.

I reckon they look a lot meaner then the golf and I probably would of taken one over the golf until a heard there is no manual which is a major dissappointment!

yeah i want one too but not patient enough to wait for it :D

i wonder if those audi style projector lights come standard in the aus model... if so looks like they went all out on it. the golf 5 had bixenons as an option in aus whereas in europe its standard i think.

6.9second 0-100 time apparently....... looking forward to seeing one in the metal!!

If I was in the market for a car right now, I'd scratch the WRX off of the list and put this in it's place for sure. On paper it looks* to be very good value for money!

*Hopefully those tacky LEDs are an option. (flamesuit on)

I saw one when I was in Europe last October.

Pictures do not do it justice!

At least they look better than the ones that HSVs come with these days...

The new VW Golf R is 190kw AWD 6spd 2.0ltr turbocharged. A bit pricey though from 50-60k. Built to challenge the likes of STi's and such. Way out of my price range though.
