Hey,

I have a 2003 Sportivo, and the airbag light has just come on and stays on.

Has anyone run into this issue before and what was the outcome. I can imagine it aint going to be a quick or cheap fix.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

u never know could be cheap

does it flash? i wouldnt know if it flash codes but if it does it would flash a number of times, then pause, then flash again a number of times, doubt it will do this tho, my falcon did..

best way to fix would take it to a dealer or auto electrician and get them to check the codes and go from there.

It happened to me once but in a Civic. A clever auto electrician pulled out the srs fuse while the car was running. The light stayed on because the computer thought there was a fault with the airbag. I ended up taking to the the honda dealer to get it reset. But if you haven't been playing with fuses then there may be an actual fault with it perhaps? Ether way I imagine you are in for a trip to Toyota.

could be a faulty sensor or a fuse is out.... without heading to toyota or an auto electrician that knows what he's doing u arent going to know ..... if its simply the sensor or fuse then it should not cost too much but if its more sinister then the $'s could start adding up depending on what the issue is .... u just never know with electrical issues

Take it to the dealer and get it checked ASAP..

Could possibly be a faulty sensor or fuse, hopefully nothing else...

If the Airbags pop out while your driving, it will cost u an arm and a leg :(

Extreme scenario - May cost him more than that... probably his life and others too if the airbag blows up in his face whilst driving on a freeway/highway.

Pretty sure Toyota or autoelectricians won't charge for an inspection or diagnosis of the problem.
