Hey guys,

i recently bought a heat shielded 3a racing pod filter to replace my current pod. my new pod is smaller than the existing pod. car sorta feels kinda differnt when driving i think it may have a bit more torque down mid. so i wanna know if this is a placebo?

makes zero difference

Unless of course you go too small or too large, and it either becomes a restriction or a resistance (too small and you'll choke the intake, too large/thick and you might get too much of a pressure drop through the filter). You'd have to go to extremes for that though.

Universal Racing Auto Air Intake Cone Filter BLK

I have an above filter for sale and its neck is 2.75inch and its more better than a 3a pod as it much louder and you can fell the difference.

had tried a trd pod and k&n before but this one is much better!

^^^^ ROFL at this guy...

mate, if you wanna sell your pod filter, then start another topic for it...

i'm with Hiro on this one... if its the extremes of sizes, then yes, it will make a difference... but slight changes shouldn't/wont make any difference... :)

so therefore you agree with me idiot

not everyone filter and intake come pre oiled like yours............................oh SNAP

well technically, the OP didnt say the sizing of the old pod and the new pod... so if they are indeed a big difference in size, then you are WRONG.. so bite me princess!! :P

oh and fyi, if the filter needs to be oiled, then they all come pre oiled... ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh SNAP back at ya... :P

what ? do u think the size of the heat shielded pod would restrict flow?

And I tried Toyota OEM, it was better than everything out there including URAAICFBLK... Believe me? It gave me VVTLift-i, VTEC, i-VTEC, MIVEC and i-Joking.

Anyway back on topic... Your heat shield not really making sense to me =| It looks like a copper's siren/strobe.

I'm "assuming" its to replicate this idea?

IMO that heatshield looks like it will affect your air flow to your cai. Dont know why you would install heatshield for your pod filter anyway, being a cai and all. Looks quite restrictive.

i found out why car felt different.... maf wasnt plugged in propperly.. DOH

@johnnie i change to heat shielded pod becasue i wanted to give a try and my old 3a was gettin pretty dirty.. surprisingly its slightly more torquey down low (i can actually feel the car pull ahahaha)
