Well when im in lift doesnt shoot out smoke, But my uncles car was off for sometime as he was overseas, when he came back it started shooting smoke in lift but after a while it disapeared but some cars are just like that, and it shouldnt wreck it because the cars designed to be in lift.

But dont lift it to much :P

edit: post a pic ive got a red one and was deciding on black on the wheels but wasnt to sure :P Pic to see how it looks :P?

black smoke in a petrol most likely some extra soot in the exhaust pipe from bad fuel.

blue smoke is the oil seals in the engine have seen better days.

but in saying that, dont be alarmed. the FIRST thing i'd do before driving a stivo hard is give it a FULL service with oil and fliuds etc. i wouldn't trust whoever sold it to u even if they did say its been serviced and they have reciepts etc.

service it urself for peace of mind

congrats on ur new purchase :)

Engine is very reliable if treated properly. As Kenshin said, if it is just blowing a little black smoke like every car does at WOT, then nothing to worry about.

Once or twice a day is nothing really. Toyota put the engine through a lot more punishment than that in development and testing.

Hey mate congrats on the car I would def give the car a service before giving it s bit as slot of people have said living on lift is fun but it's a dangerous place a hit every here and there is ok but not every set of lights and mate where about you from?

as the others have said, a good full service will be good for the car.

moving forward, if you plan on driving the car aggressively, then a good maintenance schedule is in order (eg. regular oil changes).

the way i see it there is a big difference between driving a car hard and thrashing it, and it's all in how you treat the car in return for it's hard work.
