So been chatting to a few people in the states, and they swear by this product that it reduces the lag time when you slam the pedal down. I just spent the last hour or so reading reviews off various forums (different makes and models) and they all seem to swear by it. At first i was skeptical like them eBay performance chips. Everyone says it works, its easy to install.

Placebo? maybe but the electronics behind it appear legit. Only negative i see from this is lets say worst case scenario this unit fails and and the throttle is remains open. Run away toyota? Not safe, but apparently theres a fail safe wire too. Think i need to read up more on this. But i thought id ask an outside perspective. for $150 bucks, why not? Uncle crown casino will fund this one me thinks

Private number,

I'm going to go out on a lim here and suggest that a what your looking at is very similar to my Britz Throttle Controller. It piggy backs off the electronic throttle cable and have different presents to determine how much "wooooosh" you want.

If that is the case, GET IT. YOU'LL LOVE IT :), just ask Mr X (kenshin)....he took my rolla for a spin with it set to "Awesome" and he felt the difference :D

PS: simplyvandinh, I think a.Rice has the one you linked to in his auto rolla

seriously ? damnn , if only i had no work , id go to the meet :( i wanna see it myself , does it really work ?

is it mainly for throttle response / throttle sensitivity ?

I'm pretty sure DJKOR does not give a flying f*** what you do to your Camry to change the way it feels to yourself.

you angry at me or something ?

i just wanted to see your opinion on it , thats all .

Not sold on this. Seems like a gimmick to me. Especially at $85 including Postage.

If I have learnt anything from all this Andrew... it's that it is not a gimmick. It does exactly what it is meant to do.... which is to make the car feel more responsive to the driver. At the end of the day, all it is doing is applying the throttle at a rate that is different to what you have been used to with your car. The result of this is that you in turn think it is more responsive. Imagine it's like changing the scale that your TV volume goes up in so that the numbers are then halved. Your TV gets louder at a lower number... but at the end of the day, it just maxes out sooner. The capability of the speakers don't actually increase.

Ultimately it does nothing for actual performance. But for some people, feeling that their car is quicker because it takes less physical throttle to do something is more than enough for them.

I remember we discussed this product (or similar) at one of the Thursday night meets. Can't I do the same thing by changing a few bits on my cable throttle body?

I would love to have more for less, for less than $85 if we can source the bits!

Interesting what everyone had to say. I feel more inclined to buy it now. However, what scares me a bit is if this system fails and leaves the throttle open..then.........boom.

What i like about the Weapon R is that you can change modes and settings more than the one you linked van.

The replies in the thread would suggest the opposite.

Hence why i feel more inclined as all ive read is positive things until you guys said otherwise. I dont see the comments as negatives, only negatives i got is "can be done cheaper"

Ahh ok. i think you must have DJKOR on your ignore list then.

I have driven pete's car with his throttle controller.

It does exactly as advertised, changes the throtle curve... so it *feels* like you are making more power, but you are not.

It also has a mode that does the opposite to help 'eco' driving.

Its up to you really, if you think $85 is worth it for a a faster *feeling* car, then go for it.

It might actually be worthwhile if you were using for the eco mode. If used with forced induction it could possibly be used to delay initial boost application as well.
