Hey guys

So i was driving home last night and as i was turning right at the lights i heard a slight knocking in what sounded like the rear left of the car.

I kept turning/swerving right and on every turn there was the same constant knock whilst turning.

Has anyone experienced this before? from Google it seems like it might be a brush issue

Any help will be appreciated

Cheers

My boot thing in between the carpet and spare wheel (you know the **** made out of chip wood) has basically disintegrated and my tow bar/jack tools were all rolling around the place... I've wrapped them in an old shirt and stuffed them in the corner! Doubt it's the same issue though...

Also found my fire extinguisher had exploded in my boot, easy enough to clean off the carpet though :)

Yea i have replaced that and installed a sub in the spare tyre.

This was def coming from outside the car.

I had a passenger in the car so that rules out that I'm just hearing things

The noise is back.. Just went for a drive and can hear it again... It is raining outside like the first time I heard the noise which makes absolutely so sense

Although I don't think it is the issue in your case (because it has only been a week apart), when the fuel tank is near full it can make a knock/slap noise as it sloshes around. It wouldn't happen at initial turn in, but would be a little delayed as cornering forces build and may repeat as it rocks side-to-side. Another thing I noticed with a stationary Aurion was that the rear suspension/brake did make a little squeak when you pushed the side of the car (ie rocking the car to get an extra half litre of fuel in at the service station), as it occasionally happened whilst driving. Again, probably not your issue.

Just thought i might add onto this thread, I am also hearing a bad knock in the front driver side. I only hear it every time I go over something very sudden (so sudden small bumps and not always speed bumps), its like the sound you would hear if you clapped your hands hard under a thick blanket (not sure if that was a weird description).

Its been getting more frequent because sometimes I wouldn't hear it at all if i went over a little bump in the road but now I hear it almost all the time. I don't hear it in the passenger side :/ Sometimes I get a similar noise when I turn my wheel while stationary (to park etc) but only sometimes.

The car is lowered with Pedders springs. It only started maybe 5 months after installation..

Anyone have any ideas?

Cheers

sounds like u might have the same issue as my GF had, the rear shock had shat itself and needed replacing, take it back to the suspension shop and get them to have a look at it

I've also had a really solid rattle that also seems to be coming from the rear left side. The car has been up on the hoist a couple of times and they can't find the source of the problem. I'm thinking that they can't find the source of the problem on the hoist while the suspension isn't under load.
