Hi - the weather in Sydney is wet today and my wife called to say she has spun the front wheels twice today on takeoff. It's her first week driving the car and our previous was a 1.8l Holden, so am I right in telling her that her driving style needs to adjust? Or is it something else?

FWD V6 + wet roads + heavy car + open-diff = very easy to get wheelspin.

Just get her to apply the throttle more slowly when accelerating from a stop in the wet. As Hiro said, it's something that is quite easy to do given the circumstances.

Happened to me heaps at first in the Aurion, get used to just being easy on the throttle.

Also helps to let the Auto do it's little roll after letting the brakes go for a second before throttling.

I have the same problem in the kluger, when the roads are wet or theres loose gravel, you can spin the wheels quiet easly, but being front wheel drive and having 201kw to contend with its only to be exspected, but I think most of the time the tyres and traction control does a good job of handling that much power, but your right you have to adjust your driving style to suite that amount of power, your old car only being only 1.8, the 3.5v6 would have double the your old car would have, so it will take a bit of time to get use to the power deleivery, but you soon will though, enjoy the power, the 3.5v6 is absolute perler of a engine.
