Hey guys, sorry if this has been talked about but I would like to ask all of you, where is the Stivo is mannufactured.

I've read some post and people have said Sth Africa. I've checked out Redbook and it says Japan.

Thanks in advance.

The stivo is made is SA as Peeks said, thats why toyota can afford to price them soo cheaply due to the foreign exchange rate, etc, and why Holden have to charge 40+ for a Turbo Astra since they are a German made opel, and the currency exchange is not as good with the euro. It's why the stivo was gona be a hit from the start, because at the end of the day 10 grand in your pocket is alot and performance differences between the hot hatches isnt that much, i mean were talking 1-2 secs at most, surely that cant justify 10 grand. Take Note Illuminati.

What about the other corolla models ? Same place ?

either japan or south africa and there are small differences in finish and raw materials used. now and then not all body colours are available from japan.

If you check under your BUILD PLATE, it'll tell you where the car was manufactured.

Sportivo's originate from South Africa... <_<

And most of the other Corolla's come from Japan :D

All that really matters is where our engine froms from, and thats from japan :P Build quality and quality control is the only issue when it comes to building a japanese car out of japan..

engine is a key part but you would also want most if not all other parts to be first rate. it is a hassle to go to the dealer for warranty repairs.

How funny is it our engines are shipped to SA to be mated to the body, then shipped to Aus, and the whole shebang is still cheaper than an Astra Turb!

Now ask yourself why toyota sells the most cars in australia?

Heh.. they know how to maximise profits and still sell their 'tin cans' for wayyy cheaper than your holden commie.. PLUS being economical all at the same time! :P

corolla and commodore are very different cars! enough said because we should not write about "other cars".

I did not say we cannot talk about other cars that is fine what I said was we cannot start topics about purchasing other cars other than Toyota. Back comments are not appretiated orrock.
