Hey guys, figured I'd finally make a build thread.
So here it is, my 2004 ZZE123 Corolla Sportivo in super sensual sizzling silver (pretty boring colour actually).

I've had this for maybe two months or so after I wrote my 06 Civic FD1 off after some touge in the wet.. bad feels. But after owning this over a month or so, I can honestly say I love my car, love the nice raw feeling to it (hate to say it but sort of reminiscent of a Honda, as I've owned two before this) ESPECIALLY THE LIFT. Needless to say, coilovers are probably the BEST you could do to it in regards to overall performance mods and working off a tight budget.

So to speak, the first thing I had to do was get rid of that hideous 4x4 height and the handling which resembled something like the Titanic. So I got my hands on some BC BR Series Coilovers.

After a while, close mate of mine wanted to paint his foggies. I said hey why not but I wasn't a huge fan of yellow foggies on rolla's. Unless they're a Hachiroku derp but how often do you come across them? Anyway, he said what do you think about amber corners? Looked great on his old dc2 so I went for it. Learnt a few things about how to paint here and there and I was pretty happy with how it turned out.

So now this brings us to a few days ago.

After reading up here and there, I tossed up between a CAI and a SRI. Intakes are intakes, depends what you want really; I was searching for more low end power and a more responsive feeling. So I finally chose the k&n typhoon series SRI and well, I love it. Lift sounds great, amazing throttle response and notable hp gains (minimal but you can't expect anything much from an intake lel).

But yeah, that's pretty much all that's done to it really. Pretty standard to say the least but I have more planned for it. I'll leave you guys with a few shots of it recently, a video I made for fun with a few mates and a video of how she runs with the SRI for those of you who are looking into a short ram.

Cheers guys, will update you with more in time!

**** around vid

Sound Check!

needs more stickers.

Agreed, ordering an OEM+ sticker and maybe something else in the near future. I plan to keep her as clean and simple as possible though :)

Like the photos from night shenanigans.. :)

Thanks dude :)

No real updates lately but here's a shot from a random shoot tonight, also bought some 5mm spacers (for wheels I may be purchasing in the future), sits alright with stock wheels.

Little update I picked up these cheapo wheels a while ago and slapped on some cheap Achillies 123s tyres on and they felt great :)
This is how it currently sits, probably won't be updating much because I am now jobless :(

Picked up a massive steal for $600, 17x7.5 +41 Advan RGII's. Absolutely love these atm, could definitely feel a difference in weight compared to my ****ty cheapo wheels previously.
Since my last update I've only really done a few things i.e. 2.5" mild steel catback all custom fabbed, double din touch screen head unit, shifter extender and knob, trd antenna replacement and a few minor things. To my surprise I noticed gains instantly after I pulled away from my mate's dc2r with I/H/E. Now contemplating whether I should fork out that extra $$$ for a set of hurricane headers, opinions of them would also be greatly appreciated!

On another note I've been chasing up some quotes for exedy HD clutch and I've found one for $350 via ebay however I am having trouble tracking down a flywheel which brings me to these questions

1) Is it alright to run a different branded flywheel with an exedy HD clutch?
2) What are the benefits of an ultra light flywheel and are they really worth the money?
3) What's it like to daily a car with a lightened fly wheel?
4) I know it's cheaper to do it when I get the clutch intalled since the gearbox will be open - should I do it?

Other than that I'll leave you with this picture which speaks for itself ;)

Lightened flywheel reduces the unwanted inertia while down shifting.

Improves acceleration at the sacrifice of top speed.

If your highly adaptive, then you would immediately get use to the change in blipping the throttle a bit more to keep the car from stalling.

PM me if you're interested in buying my flywheel.
