ACR30R Tarago real world fuel economy?

Hi all, I'm new to the forum and am considering buying a 2000-2005 tarago.

The claimed fuel economy for these vehicles is quite good. The details shown on Carsales show the fuel economy for 2000-2001 models to be 10 litres per 100k urban and 6.6 litres per 100k extra urban.

The later models, 2004 etc are shown with what seems to be more realistic 10.5litres per 100k combined.

Can any of you tarago owners give me some real world feedback as to the economy you get?

Dont have a tarago, but i do have the same engine (2.4L)

and i do mostly urban driving and get between 9.5-10L/100km

I own a 2002 tar ago and I get 550 to 600 city local driving and about 700 to 750 freeway driving.

I have a 2003 with nearly 300 000 km.

Around the city I get 14l/100km but can get close to 10l/100km on a run.

Not the cheapest thing to run but still a brilliant car

Sorry Grinner, but you'd never get close to the figures you mentioned for early ACR30Rs.  I've done over 300,000 km between two vans in great tune and get 9 litres / 100km (31 mpg) on a trip 4-up with luggage and a/c on using 98 petrol (the computer advances the timing to the max for the 9.6:1 compression ratio), which I am exceedingly happy with and which is better than a tiny '77 Gemini 1600 auto doing the same.  11.75 litres / 100km (24 mpg) around the suburbs 1-up - again using 98.
