can anyone list some small cheap mods and performance tweaks

What do you want to achieve?

BETTER response and better fuel economy

There is not a lot you can do cheaply to achieve that, aside from keeping it well maintained and adjusting your driving habits. They aren't really known for chewing through the fuel.

You may get a small fuel economy improvement with a K&N panel air filter, but probably not noticable. Toyota ECUs are not really tunable either, so very little can be done without spending decent money in that regard.

rear sway bar

Not really going to help with fuel economy or response though.

Throw a k&n in or plumb a pod filter inside the air box like I did. Plugs, leads, fuel filter, drop all fluids and clean the tb. Usually livens them up after all these years but its a 5sfe in a heavy camry it will always be slow.

And when was the last time it was driven? :P
