Coming back into the Fold-need a lil help

Hey Guys & Girls,its been awhile I've been here (like close to a decade I think) still a proud owner of a Toyota (from Corolla to Prado) & i'm looking at buying a lil run around & The Yaris seems to suit what I want,Back in the day this forum was packed full of enthusiastic Ricers & Mods ran rampant,Im in need of an overall review of the Yaris engine (pros & cons) & if any body in the forum has modded theirs (Rolling gear (Problem free sizes),Extractors,Cold air intakes)..Would love any input at this time so I can make a decision firstly on the right model? at this time I like the 2007/2008 Non Euro look ,Cheers all & I look forward to your input

Girlfriend has the 2006/7 Yaris 2 door hatchback YRS automatic model with 1500cc engine. Excellent city runabout with plenty of power and performance for a small vehicle. Must be the power to weight ratio. To my k nowledge, no problems since bought new.

A mate of mine bought 2 at separate times, the last one was the prev gen YRS 1.5L about 2005 model 5sp manual, drove the wheels off it & was solid even after 200K kms, appears to be a typical Toyota - bombproof. And it's efficient ;)
