JBL sound system in 2017 Camy Sx

Hi all,

Just got a new 2017 Camy SX (has the 10 speaker JBL system) and very happy with it except the sound quality doesn't quite suit my taste, I fine the mid drivers facing the front windshield rather harsh and tinny. Anyone else find this or just me? I am an ex sound engineer and love JBL pro gear so was quite surprised. Low end is quite acceptable. Any thoughts on something to switch out the four mid drivers with and if so would you get the dealer to or elsewhere? I'm in Victoria.

The dealer probably won't even consider touching it(nor would I let them). Your best bet would be a car audio specialist in your area.

Thanks, good advice. I've started to get used to them and also I suspect the speakers have "run in" somewhat and are sounding better.

I'm not too familiar with this setup, what is the front speaker arrangement? I own a Lexus IS with the 14 speaker Mark Levinson system. Great system however I did find the top end a little harsh on 70%+ volume so I corrected it by tuning the EQ. You could possibly do the same if you have EQ adjustment

Will def have eq adjustment as my atara s does from 2013 with a standard speaker system.

Hi guys, I too have the current shape Atara SL and I love the JBL system. I'm no sound engineer but my system sounds fantastic.

Mine is the end of 2015 so I assume as you said they have been run in.

there is possible adjust through the audio screen.

push Audio, select your source eg BTA, push sound in the bottom right corner.
