Hey TOCA,

Noticed with this new forum update when copying the BBCode link for images, it doesn't seem to embed the images in. Older posts appears unaffected but any new ones don't seem to load images. Not sure if it's just me currently.

Cheers!

Hi mate

Thanks for your message. BBCode is no longer supported as it's being phased out. Are you linking images from another site?

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the reply. Yeap, linking from Imgur for my images. Is the best practice to try a direct link or upload directly to my gallery?

Cheers!

hi mate, yes uploading here is best practice as like photobucket when they screwed things up for users all the images on the forums broke. If its uploaded here then we will make sure they don't get lost.

cheers

I use imgur too and have always used 'direct link' for posting images directly to a thread and you can use 'image link' to create an image link using the provision top of field in the second grouping from the left.

Copy image link, highlight the word you want to use for link, then click the link symbol above and paste your URL into the field and your good.

Thank you Steve & Tony, managed to use the direct link yesterday as I didn't try before posting so all it good now!

Problem with direct links are if photo sites like imgur if they go out of business or dissallow remote sharing then it will break the links rendering your thread useless. Always encourage uploading here, guarantee the images will never break. We have plenty of space.

If you have any issues with uploading multiple images then let me know, i can look into it.

100% true. Photobucket shafted everybody when they decided to extort money from their users.

Don't worry. I keep ALL my pics in a special folder just in case of such an event, I can always re upload them.

The reason why I use a third party direct link is because there's a limit as to how many you can upload in any one thread. That's what I remember anyway. Is this still the case or has this been expanded ?

The software has changed quite a bit since the old days so this may of changed. I can tweak things. The only restriction we would need is video as these can gobble up a server in no time.
