I am thinking about getting a Stoptech big Brake Kit for my Celica SX. Could someone clarify to me on whether big brake kits are road-legal or not?

I would highly recommend that you contact your State Motor vehicle Transport Dept to confirm. I did a Google search so essentially it is an upgrade of the rotors, calipers and brake lines.

Doubt if this will be a road-legal issue.

What do you mean by ‘State Motor vehicle Transport Dept’?

I've contacted Vic Roads and they said that as long as the aftermarket big brake kit is vehicle specific, not universal.
