 Hi like to say hi to everyone my son bought a 07 trd aurion and came home on tow truck one night with the worst case of blow by ive ever seen to what I've finally found on YouTube that the 3rd cat could block causing major pressure build up so I've taken the third cat off and yes it was stuffed so just like to ask which way to get motor out have bought a full rebuild kit for it as I have now purchased the car from my son thanks

Hi Allan, I would suggest looking at all the videos you can on engine removal. I have never tackled it myself so can't comment first hand however we do have a YouTube guy we all seem to enjoy who is a Toyota and Lexus Master Tech and has some great videos on the 2 GR-FE V6 engines on his site.

This is one he does on the 2 GR -FE V6 engine he is called The Car Care Nut

so check it out see if he can guide you and i  hope something he shows will assist you mate

OK thank you very much yea I've seen him on YouTube he is very good ive seen them take a 2grfe out of an Avalon from up the top and left the transmission in the car so I'm just about ready to pull it out and see

I will be interested to hear how things go with the engine removal. Something that is beyond my DIY capabilities and willingness in my elderly years.

My main concern would be disconnecting all of the wiring and not missing anything.

Sure that there will be lots of learnings with tips and tricks along the way.

Yeh it's been a long time between drinks for me as well last one I ever did was a 327 chev I had in an old 71 Hg Holden but the prices people are charging these days and my son had already bought the rebuild kit all I have to get is timing chain kit and water pump everything else is there plus there is so many gaskets and seals in the kit im going to try and replace everything it's a shame about the 3rd cat getting blocked I only found that out on YouTube was a bloke on there with the same trd supercharged aurion and he went through 4 motors in 12mths until toyota themselves found what was causing the damage I think they should be replacing the engine should maybe of been a recall

Yeh well I was wondering what happened as it hard the worst case of blow by was coming out of everywhere oip pouring out the throttle body that's what my son said he was being silly and was reving it hard driving like a manual just hope the bore is OK

      I was told jy Toyota hilux grinner 1990 2xd was rare 10 years ago. I just read in good condition they fetch around 50,000. My car is in good condition and has service history and receipts. Can anyone tell if this is true.

      2001 Toyota Camry wagon passenger side locks not working

      Had a similar issue with my 2003 Camry sedan. I'm think the mechanism might be bit stiff, so removing the door card and spraying the locking cable (the one that pushes the lock knob into the lock and unlock position on the interior door handle) with some Innox might work to loosen up the old grease and get it working again.

      2007 - floor mats

      Hi Ed, Hmm that's a tough one mate ..short of going to Toyota to get genuine and no I doubt they would laugh at you as it's a sale and money is tight right now. I am not sure if you are on Facebook or not but I have seen an advert on there for what looks like superb floor mat sets that do seem excellent quality and a wide range but like most things now they are not cheapish. My best advice is source some good quality ones and search online for someone who offers embroidery as some do tradie shirts and logos on clothing it may be worth a phone call to those sort of places as I know a local one to me does all sorts of work on many things related to embroidery or an alternative choice is the online sites like Temu...       2001 Toyota Camry wagon passenger side locks not working

      Gday, I've got a 2001 Camry wagon which has been having locking issues for a while now, just started occurring out of the blue. There is no fob so we manually unlock and lock from the driver side door, however the rear and front passenger doors consistently have issues. Either when we unlock one or both doors don't unlock and must be unlocked from inside the car, or when we lock it one or both don't lock and the car beeps. To fix that, we open the door, lock it from the inside, the lift up the handle and close the door before releasing the handle. That fixes the locking issue. When testing the locks from inside the car, I can see that they partially lock and unlock, so I'm wondering if they need to be replaced entirely or if there's some other way to fix it. Cheers

      2002 Hilux Engine Replacement

      I have a 2002 Hilux that is meant to have a 5le engine but i think it was replaced with a new engine with a turbo before i bought it. Its a different engine compared to what is in the manual - eg the alternator is at the bottom not the top as per the manual. The engine is seized - tried roll starting downhill and wheels just locked up. I cant find what the engine is. Any ideas on where I would find it? Also 5LE engines are hard to find - any ideas on what else i could put in? Does a 1KZ fit?
