Yes confirmed the 30th!!!

ZEE i'd say u would get alot of interested ppl watching as you would prob be the first mps 3 to run there.

Mazda will have you to blame if they have poor sales (or good sales if you run a mad time)

:P

if i remember it got a 14 flat and the other run i saw was a 14.3

Thanks!

Well there you go Zee your target to crack low 14's!!!

i will be lucky to match my big brother's times! :P They are AWD remember, maybe some stickier tyres would help ;) My Bridgestone Potenza RE050A have no chance on a drag strip.

MOTOR got a 14.2s pass @ 153.23km/h for the MPS6, and 14.67s @ 157.9km/h for the MPS3. SO its all in the launch and traction ;) Would love to crack a WRX's time though, 14.29s @ 154.31km/h.

Zee its not impossible man! run on the best fuel

let some air out of your tyres, lighten it abit by taking the spare out if you have a sub that too and go for it!

i might also bring along some lighter 17s and have been using 98RON all the time.. want to do the runs fully loaded to see what i can get and with 2000+kms i don't think the engine has fully "loosened" up yet but confident i can match MOTOR's times ;) check out the trap speed, it craps all over the 2 awds :P its 1.5km/h off the EVO9's pace @ 1000m so if i get the launch right and not wheelspin too much in 1st/2nd/3rd i should be alright.

Wheels said Sportivo's 0-400m time is 16.2, but i have done 15.495s. I have stock intake, stock exhaust too.

hmmm, maybe if i only try and do a couple of runs to keep the clutch cool it could work... <_< then that way i could watch some runs as well :D

but then there is still the lack of a good traction solution and if i cannot sort that as well i am not going to go much better - DAMN!

Was gonna head down to WSID today to spectate cos i know a guy with a MPS 3 was gonna run but i lost my way  . I heard a XR5 turbo ran a 14.5 followed by 14.8, 14.8 with 25psi front tyre pressure and not sure what else, MOTOR ran a 15.3s pass. This guy with the MPS 3 ran a 14.8 with 155km/h pass, his 1st time at drags, no adjustment to tyre pressure, everything still in car with all his other crap. He left after 2 runs. He also said he was taking it easy shifting before 6000rpm and ended up having to use 5th gear to cross the line during that 14.8 pass. I guess he could have held it in 4th bcus 4th maxes out at 164km/h so an extra shift probably cost him 2/10 tenths or more.

It's good to know what to look out for now ;) But i don't know about lowereing tyre pressures, puts a lot more strain on the mounts.

 :P

Now i just got to weigh up whether to risk breaking an engine mount with a hard launch and lowered front tyre pressure to crack 14.8  Also for your info even if i don't crack 14.8 i won't feel so bad because i have seen a WRX STI Type RA with 206kw run 14.9 :P

I badly want the LSD in my escort.

2.0L Pinto powered escort like mine ran a 13.3 over the 1/4 recently in england. Actually they all run that  be interested to see what those pommies are putting into their n/a motors. Fecking insane.

Cosworth Duratec power perhaps?

you need one of these my friend :)

http://www.cosworth.com/shop_item.php?productid=101

The cosworth equipped ones are running 10's 11's :o :o :o

These are 2.0L SOHC Pintos that are running 13's. Insane. Methinks it's all engine, driveline and weight reduction work. I was very suprised Dylan. Very. I'll try and find something on them.

Check this out guys! 14.467sec at WSID for a XR5 Turbo. It is "STOCK" but running 22psi front tyre pressure!

XR5 turbo 1/4mile time WSID 16/8/06

But if you look at the time slips the XR5 trap speed was 155km/h, and the guy in the MPS 3 that did a 14.8s also clocked 155km/h but like i said he shifted into 5th gear and had all the crap in his car plus everything is stock. :ubbwink:

I think if the MPS 3 driver can improve on his launch, use 25psi tyre pressure and get a better 60feet time, and also stick in 4th gear he should be able to crack some amazing times. Let's await :D
