hi guys, someone has installed the oil catch tank on his engine?

It seems to be a good solution in order to separate the gases produced from the burnt oil.

In this way the gases don't enter again in the engine and the air filter inhales clean and fresh air.

well I try to exlain you :D

you must remove the tubes that goes from head to the manifolds, and between insert the OCT.

This block the oil and it does not allow it to re-enter in the manifolds.

Any Picture or DIY steps? Is it for eyes or really useful for daily driving. (not track day)

we put one on MAP81's car, make sure the catch can is a baffled type, the empty types aren't as effective. We had to customise the one on Marks car as it wasn't baffled to start with:

Off topic, Your engine bay looks great. More heat & noise without engine cover :P Will police say anything about it. :blink:

how does removing the plastic cosmetic cover increase heat and noise?? It extends the life of the coilpacks as they can actually get some airflow with the ****ty cover removed.

The catch can helps even in normal driving as it removes/reduces the amount of oil vapour from the PCV outlet which normally gets routed back into the intake and gunks up your inlet and induces knock when combusted.

Thx. Was thinking the cover will reduce the noise & less heat for the bonnet. (Will remove the cover shortly haha).

so thats what the engine looks like under that shell! just by taking the cover off, it looks like you modified the engine muahahaha!

do you need special tools to remove that cover?

i wanted 2 take a look under it but been too lazy to take a close look n see how its actually attached.

how much did your oil catch tank cost btw map81? looks like a nice fit... how did you fix it into that position? obviously something is holding it in place to keep it jumping round.

do you need to remove that engine cover in order to connect the tank?

are you able to refit the cover once the pipes for the tank are in place?

Not quite, he has painted the rocker cover gun-metal. It's normally just bare alloy like the rest of the motor.

It's very very easy to remove the plastic cover - It's only there for looks. The two nuts at the front and the two black clips at the rear (which tend to break easy when you remove and only cost $2 to replace)

a question: when is it necessary to empty the OCT?

I made a stainless bracket that bolts to the car and the battery bracket to hold MAP81's catchcan in place.

The cusco can I had on my old 4agte was very good. It had proper internal baffles to separate the oil and other crud out from the air. Beware of the copy cans which look the same but have no internal baffling.

You empty the can before the level indicator reaches the full mark. Doing it every 10-20,000km is fine, unless your engine has a lot of blowby and fills the can quickly :P

Another way to optimize the engine and the air aspiration is to remove the vapor oil recircle on the engine.

In practice the pvc and the basement's pipe are removed and they let to "drain free" under the car.

In this way the vapor oils do not return on the engine .

As far as I know, there is no "E12" specific catch can. The car specific cans usually consist of the generic can and an custom bracket.

      KUN26R Hilux Single Cab - Tray to Tub

      Hi everyone, I own a 2011 Toyota Hilux KUN26R. It currently has a tray. I am looking for a single cab tub (image for reference below). I have a couple of questions for everyone: - Were KUN26R's ever released in Australia with a single cab tub as an option? I have looked high and low over all sorts of marketplaces within Australia and honestly cannot seem to find one. I don't believe I have ever seen one on the streets of Aus either. - Does anyone have experience making this conversion? Where can I find a tub? I have found some examples of the style side single cab KUN26R's in the UK, EU, Africa and Thailand but in all instances it has been part of a whole car sale and the sellers have not been willing to part out. Even so, if there is the chance that I can buy this tub in Australia it would be much better as it would save the hassle of organising freight. Thanks everyone in advance. I'm jealous of overseas countries who seem to have gotten this model in abundance.

Previously owned from new by older lady who rarely drove the car in the final years. Very neat and tidy vehicle.       Rav4 smart key keyless entry

      I got my new rav4 2024 hybrid gx yesterday. The fob let's me lock and unlock using the button but doesn't do this automatically for proximity. Once in the car the push start ignition turns on without holding the key up to it and the multimedia system tells me that the smartkey system is activated. I've read the manual over and over but can't find a fix for this specific thing. Has anyone else had this?

      Buying 3rd hand 2010 Aurion Sportvio for $9000

      Hey I'm looking to buy my first car and was looking at this 2010 Aurion Sportvio with 165,000km for around $9000and relatively new tires.       200 series 2nd Row centre seat belt removal

      Hi Our dog chewed through the centre seat belt on the second row seats was looking for help on how to remove tensioner and seat belt for replacement. Hopefully someone can advise of how to do this task would be much grateful. Kind Regards Greg Richardson
