hi guys im a newbie to this forum.

looking at buying one, does anybody know if thers a facelift on 2010 kluger coming up this year.

Hi Mate, Kluger facelift will take place around May or June this year. Most of the dealers don't know the features. But after speaking to many dealers what I understand the facelift may cover following:

Front Grill

Bluetooth capability for base model

Ipod (Aux) for Grande model

Side indicators like new RAV4

Dealers are expected to know 4 weeks in advance about the exact changes. I hope this helps. Good Luck.

The US Highlander is much the same as our Kluger.

"The 2011 Toyota Highlander should be in showrooms by autumn 2010"

US autumn, which I guess means spring in Australia.

"...new grille insert and maybe altered taillamp lenses and wheel designs."

From http://iguida.com/2011-toyota-highlander article dated 14 Dec 09.

I was down at the local Toyota dealership today (I'm in the market for a KXS Kluger) and quizzed the sales guy on the facelift. He said:

* Items mentioned earlier in this thread (indicators on mirrors, bluetooth, bumpers etc)

* 50/50 Split seat for 3rd row

* Manufacturing in July, so vehicles will be available a month or two after that.

* Doesn't know if there will be a price change, but based on his experiences it's likely.

I would like to thank all the contributors to this thread - I owe you all a beer!

Went to my local Toyota dealer on the weekend to buy a AWD Grande for my wife as a birthday present for delivery in Sept. Never thought to ask if there was a facelift in the pipeline and got my name put down for what would have been the very last Grande AWD in black with tan leather in the current look.

I can't tell you how p*$$ed off I would have been to pay 70k for an end on line model.

By chance I found this thread and called the dealer to change my order. So now I am waiting to have one of the first face-lifted Klugers in Sept.

Thanks again!

I thought I'll ask the question coz the 2nd gen kluger has been out for 2 years and generaly car companys do upgrade there models within this time.

Didnt want to get caught out buying an older model, when a facelift is due, i can wait for the sake of 3 or 6 months no rush.

LETS HAVE A BEER...AEY :yahoo:

Guys, this is your best source of information for the updated Kluger;

http://www.toyota.com/highlander/

Pretty hard to see the difference!

If they are the sum total of the changes then I couldnt see any advantage in waiting. In my opinion the tail lights take it back 4 years and the Rav4 type grille.

The grille and tail lights you refer to are from the Hybrid (Limited) model.

The tail lights are LED.

I can't tell the difference in the bumpers.

The third row is still one piece, not 50/50 split.

The side front indicators are no longer on the fenders.

The side mirrors now have "puddle" lights standard, not indicators.

Yeah I don't think that's the updated model.

The side indicators were never on the fenders in the US model. I think that's part of our ADR's.

The Highlander on the Toyota USA page is the current model. Since the US market uses the Model year system, we'll be looking at the 2011 Model Year for the updated car.

The model year system can get very confusing sometimes. A car built/ made available in mid 2009, is considered as a 2010 model (e.g. 2010 Toyota Rukus in Australia= 2011 Scion xB (Facelift) in the US.).

Thanks for clearing that up ToyotaFreak - it did look remarkably like the current model! The 360 view says it is actually the 2009 model.

And I'm guessing that 'puddle' lights stop you from stepping in, er, puddles? That's a new one for me! Would pref indicators on the mirrors (and electric folding mirrors).

Hi Toyota owners, I have been looking at this forum for quite some time and have learned a lot from you guys. This is my first post.

My gratitude to the folks who put up the information about the facelift version of the Kluger. I already had a Kluger Grande supposed to come in last June 5, but apparently there was a delay in shipment  . This prompted me to just cancel the order and now I'm waiting for the new version coming out in September. I have confirmed this with the dealer as well...they initially tried to pretend they did not know anything about the facelift, but I told them I read it in the Toyota Owners Club Forum. They gave their stock person a quick call, then came back saying...ah yes...there will be a facelift version coming out in August-September.

The problem now is, while waiting for September, I'm starting to look at a Prado GXL instead. Mean looking vehicle with a similar price point to the Kluger Grande 2WD. :whistling:

Did you end up paying any extra? No dealers would take an order from me as they didn't have pricing (that was a week or two ago now).

ok, little more info.

Sounds like August manufacture for a Sept/Oct delivery.

KX-S has an upgraded head unit (6 stack, USB connectivity)

KX-R has different wheels, and a spoiler :)

Can log in to check order status.

The tracking system says that the Facelift will be launched in October, and they'll be delivering as close as possible to the launch announcement.

So there you go, it'll be out in October.

I wanted the split fold 3rd row. We'll be keeping the car for at least 5 years, and I'd be kicking myself if I didn't wait and get it. :)

Hi Pugsly, thanks for the update. I went to my Toyota dealer last week and did a test drive of both the Kluger Grande and the Prado. That test drive just confirmed my decision to go with the Kluger Grande. The sales guy said that changes for the Grande would be the following : Chrome Grill, Chrome handles, some chrome on roof racks, new design of wheels, 50/50 split third row seat. No mention of a signal indicators on side mirros and ipod connectivity/ He was saying that delivery dates would be around October/November time frame as well. He did mention though a price increase of about A$ 3-5K??? Sounded a bit steep for the changes he mentioned but it may have been exaggerated a bit to place an order straight away. I think I will just wait for the facelift version...won't hurt waiting for a couple more months.

Oh, I forgot to mention...they said something about some slight changes on the bumper shape too.

He'd be guessing based on what's happened previously. I drilled several dealerships on price and the company line is that they don't get pricing until 48hrs before launch. A couple of the dealerships I spoke with indicated that because so little is changing they don't expect a price change, and yet a couple said they did.

Even if you order early (like I did) the sales contract has a clause about price increases, so it's hard to know what's best to do.
