  1. Arcxis and another black rolla In front of Chinabar in melb on fri nite. Probably stocking up on rice Bangn and 2fst4u cruising with other fine rides in publicity on sat.
  2. Ive popped a stivo cat on my auto ascent and i lost low end but gained mid - high end. Mello who's done the same on the manual experiences the sam lag in the low end, but being a manual he and ride past the low revs and hold it in the "gain zone" where as mine shifts for economy and therefore is more inclined to shift at lower revs, dropping me back into the laggy bit of my power curve. IMO the stivo cat back is a decently priced mod, but i must suit ur driving pattern. For me, i'm stuck in jams to work back and forth every day, so i would feel the low end lag more. but on weekends i appreciate the mid gain when i cruise!
  3. See here the newest-est-est technology universal sunroof for all cars! :D :D :D
  4. So let me get this straight, you are asking Carlo to come and play with your gear knob for free? Too much coffee has made E-gene dirty!
  5. No Chrome! Needs to be 300g +, standard one does already have a bit of weight in it ( I can't remember how much, a while since I weighed it ), so it has to be heavier but not too much so. I can't remember who but someone here was using the Razo RA25A which is 340g and noted a positive improvement in shifts. But then again over $100 just for a gear knob has made me reluctant to go down this path, better things to spend it on ;) awe, come on, just try it out! the damned thing is about 500 gms... u'll shift so smooth, u'll love chrome! and u get to play with it for free!
  6. Hey Craig! Haven't seen u online in a while, how's snowflake? But yeah, i was thinking a dual pipe system that runs a switching flap in a Y- junction will do the trick! In hi cam revs the flap closes the smaller diameter pipe and vice versa for low revs. Yes, its lotsa work, but it sure is different!
  7. When you say heavier knob, how heavy are we talking about(approx in grams?) what about a nice momo knob? are they fat enough? Else i have this HEAVY chrome one (so heavy u can club ppl with it) from ralliart u can try, its a universal and even fits autos (no overdrive button) if u want to paly with it i can lend it to u.
  8. or 8700 rpm's ;) ;) ;) ;) :D :D :D :D :D Hey Bill, if i pay for the postage will you put the 1zze zorst on the car for a week? Maybe the powerfc will implode!
  9. Nooo! I want to come but its the xmas party with my high school buddies... NNOOOOO!!!
  10. I hit on this idea coz some of us in melbourne just met up with a new member who's stivo lives in low cam. Owned the car for a while but had never hit lift and will only use lift very occasionally. Conservative driver indeed!, in which case the above option might be an idea no? P.s. or u can try convince him to swap cars with my torquey 1zze beast? :D p.p.s I got a spare 1zze catback laying around if anyone wants it to explore the idea!
  11. Yes, but first we need to determine if a smaller pipe will fix the problem. Then a clever valve/switching system and a dual pipe system will fix that easy since lift engages at a set point. The key point is, someone should try it out,and see how the car/engine reacts!
  12. Okey dokes, here is my idea I got whilst driving in my auto 1zze with the stivo cat back. I'm getting low torque in my low revs coz my engine doesn't have good scavanging as the pipe diameter is too large. But in mid and higher revs (from 60 km/h to 80 km/h) i have vastly improved acceleration. Again I figure this is because the engine is working harder and pumping out more exhuast gases, which by now the volume of which is sufficient to see some effect scavanging occuring. So my problem with my low end is too large a pipe. Now, in a 2zze, the low cam out put is less than a 1zze, so this combined a large diameter exhuast may be the cause of the bad low end. So if you pop a smaller diamater pipe on, will it fix the problem? Now i figure someone with workshop backgrounds like silvabullet might be able to pop a 1zze exhuast on for a week or so and see what happens?
  13. sounds expensive how much lower from stock will it take u? HMm.. i'm getting my car serviced in a couple of days. if u send me a pic or somethin maybe i can get one for u
  14. Hey, its a new car man, what ever the problem is, just bring it back to toyota and abuse them. It might be the breaks being a little sticky? As for rims. You know you want the chrome :D
  15. Or you could try the Jaycar ones. meant to be good bang for buck
  16. Do you mean the bolts at the top of the strut? Im not familar with the term sussy strut? ← sussy strut = suspension strut. yeah i think its the ones on the top o the strut. i'll ask him next week when i get the car serviced
