  7. The off set doesnt have to be exact does it? aslong as the wheels aren`t rubbing..
  8. Any suspension place would gladly do it. As for wheel alignment and balance, I`ve always done it at Bob Jane and have never had a problem.
  9. Chances are they won`t tell you the real problem
  10. If the traffic registry can understand what they mean, they won`t register them for you.
  11. Try and figure out under what conditions it's most likely to occur so you can get it to fault with the mechanic.
  12. I lost 18 points in one night. All it takes is a few minutes of stupidity to ruin many years in ones life.
  13. Get it checked out by toyota. Judging by some of the threads on here looks like toyota likes playing the blame game.
  14. Here's my 2 cents. Mechanics, being one myself can be a very expensive guessing game at the expense of the car owner. As BKS said could be as simple as tyres or as complicated as a FWD diff. Before you get any mechanic to rip into anything.. have a fiddle around yourself. In most cases when a bearing has failed you can feel play and/or vibration or hear a dry or failed bearing when u jack the car up and turn the wheel by hand. Do some research on this website and google for symptoms of failed components or causes of humming. Just to give you an idea of how broad the possibilities are, i had a similar problem on my sisters astra and it turned out to be air in the p/steer system. At low speeds no matter which way the wheels faced everything was normal, but as soon as you reach a speed of 90km/h the car would whine very loudly. Goodluck
  15. nice choice on the wheels. Looks unreal! B)
  16. i know the JZS147 model is an import. Im not too sure about the previous model. A quick google search will be able to confirm alot of info your after.
  17. For a very tight budget you have to start with a mod that stands out so i say rims and drop suspension B)
  18. very nice ride.. Have you considered colour coded mudflaps? i think they look awesome
  19. The aristo has the same motor as a supra the 2jz which is a tough motor and one of the best motors out of jap. They are an import.
  20. the risk is running without an engine dampner which will add unwanted vibration to the crankshaft and connecting components. For such little power gain if any probably not worth the risk.
  21. There are alot of good wheel repairers out there. I got 2 of my sportivo rims repaired at $45 a rim for gutter rashes which were roughly 4cm long. I got them repaired at Magman in punchbowl. Depending on your mates damage, if its only a gutter rash its much cheaper to get it repaired.
  22. The behaviour of the squeal sounds like the belt. while the car is running spray lubricant on the belt and see if the noise disappears. Goodluck
  23. I had the same problem when my corolla was 15000ks old so i decided to give the pollen filter a clean when i noticed i didnt have one in there! fit one and never had a problem since.
  24. That rolla looks awesome good work! out of curiosity what sorta rims are they?
