  1. Bahahaha....I love how I've been captured in an overtaking move Great filming :D Winnie took the vids on my DSLR. Good work to her!
  2. Also, Trung told me off for using one hand; so I forced myself to use two hands in the last session.. Found it very awkward..as I've always driven like that for the past 8 years. :(
  3. Awesome organiser, awesome weather, awesome day! Thanks Trung I learnt so much that day on top of what I already knew.. Just terrific! :D It's a good place to learn how your car handles but also at the same time learn what your capabilities as a driver are! Obviously you have to be careful of other drivers and just use common sense. :) Duy just grabbed the HD vids Winnie took on my DSLR; there's a few good clips of cars going through the final S-bend & straight, and one of cars lining up ready to go out. The vids are so clear! First time to Winton so I did not know what to expect. Also, haven't really been driving this car much recently so I was afraid I've forgotten how she handled! :D 1st Session - 2:07.5760 2nd Session - 1:59.028 3rd Session - No PB, session was cut short due to accident 4th Session - 1:55.712 Understeer due to tyre pressures was a major issue. It was not only until the 4th session that I tried dropped the fronts down to 32psi cold and kept the rears 34psi cold (advice from Trung); this helped dramatically. Also in the last session, I took Trung around for 4 laps and he was telling me which areas I could improve (more like screaming "gas that mfker!" ); dropped him off in the pits and headed back out. In the next 3 laps, I managed to cut my PB down to 1:55.712! Unfortunately the session ended before I could cut it down even more. It was getting late so we all agreed to call it quits and starting packing up/putting parts back into our cars. I'll post up photos Winnie took once I get a chance to look through them and select the good ones. My HD vids are to be uploaded by Duy, wait patiently because they're MASSIVE! Haha Peter.
  4. I drove behind one today! Bloody massive things they are!! It said it was 34.5m long..
  5. Hahahaha! It was straight from the box! :D I could remove the left foglight, like some of the s'tivo guys have done! I guess it depends on how much time I got tomorrow With a huge hole, might get some locusts?! HAHA I realised, I haven't added a recent photo of the front yet; nothing exciting still haven't colour-coded front lip.. :o
  6. Might as well put these up while waiting for you lol.. :P
  7. Hey guys, just a reminder to keep it on the track, especially this week (can't help it if you guys get urges); police will be in place to look for dangerous drivers this weekend as a part of F1 weekend. Trung, I'll probably give you a call sometime tonight.
  8. If you guys haven't already seen Johnnie's thread, Johnnie & I did some DIY bracket designing for the fire extinguisher (photo above). My bracket & F.E. still needs to go in. Did the 50,000kms service over the weekend and changed the pod as well; quite surprisingly, the pod was actually quite clean for 10,000kms. Just could be due to the Hydroshield (yes, I still have it on). I also bought a helmet! :D Here are some photos..thanks for looking! C'mon Winton!! :) Materials used for DIY F.E. bracket. Changing pod. Wish it is this low, however, just not feasible with my driveway! (Not photoshop'd at all, just Thommo, Jay and Johnnie sitting on the back seats :P) Jay testing out how it feels to drive with a helmet on.. a bit weird! :P
  9. No worries mate. Would probably be at Johnnie's house on Friday night. Let me know via PM/fb/sms etc if you're free. :)
  10. M.I.A.? Definitely! My guess is a white Caldina?
  11. Got to agree with Lee here. You rather get better tires; yeah you pay extra for it but it will help when you need them. Safety comes first brother. I also advise getting something decent at aqua planning, not just purely good in the dry. About the nuts, I'm heading up to Winton with some of boys on Saturday night. You can meet us when we meet the westside boys? Times/meeting points have not been confirmed though.
  12. Plumber + construction engineer = awesome F.E. bracket!
  13. I got McGard locks on mine, I can show you next meetup? The grooves in the key and a large range of different combinations make them good.
  14. I would still get it (maybe?). I agree with the front mesh though..
  15. Definitely 3k yellow Pete! Winter is coming up and I love driving with it on in the rain. 1. just looks awesome; 2. yellow is the best colour in wet/fog 3. JDM 4. Commonwhores/fords with boring foglights will be completely jealous!
  16. Awesome man! That makes mine sound like a prius!
  17. Good work mate. Already tasteful mods and you've only just started! :) P.s. the guy above is the devil in disguise.. :P
  18. Hahaha good work mate! You got less than two weeks? Btw, I forgot to mention I got a close friend that is also called Abby and she's also ... :P (left blank intentionally)
  19. I don't believe it would be uncomfortable, as your feet would be to the front of the car and not at the base of the chair (unless you're mega tall? :P). You need somewhere easily accessible and it needs to be braced/fixed so it does not come loose in the case of an accident *touch wood*. Yeah man, not sure if this is the way of going about this. This is the brackets I was referring to.. Alternatively, we might have to screw into the chassis. Screwing into the chassis at the base of the front passenger chair might be difficult as we don't have as much room as the ZZEs. That leaves, the side of the centre console, front passenger side?
  20. Yep, definitely at the front for easy access. Was thinking of attaching a bracket like this to the existing bolts, but not sure.. Would that be too weak in the worse case, an accident? *touch wood*
  21. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=24323&view=findpost&p=439002 See link to my thread. I got a F.E. for Winton coming up but am not sure how to mount it. Planning do like Jason's setup but only spot available (without drilling holes) is in front of passenger seat. Also due to limited space and position of existing, need some 90 degree brackets. Not sure if this is the way I should go about it. Please see the link above and advise. Thanks! :) Peter.
  22. Preparing for Winton.. nearly! Still need helmet and pads. (Note: 1 FE is for Johnny :P) Question is now, how to attach fire extinguisher to my front passenger seat? I was thinking getting two 90 degree brackets and a piece of metal sheeting; which would be attached to the bracket on the fire extinguisher. Would this be suffice? Please advise! Centre-to-centre span of the bolts are ~41.5mm. This is what I was referring to, like Jason's setup. Only I need 90deg brackets to the metal sheet due to how the existing bolts are sitting.
