  1. I'm not sure if the xtra cabs have the wiring there, you might need to run them from the back of the headunit Amp is well worth it but only if using aftermarket speakers
  2. All of the new gen 4x4's have their own set of issues, for the most part though the Hilux isn't the most fanciest or most well equipped but still built bloody tough and overall very reliable.
  3. I'm not very familiar with the Eonon unit, but the best advice I can give below works for the majority of units 1. The GPS software is actually on an SD card that should have come with the unit. Without inserting it into the GPS slot it will act like you don't have the software installed 2. Bluetooth issues are fairly unit specific so I can't really offer any advice with this one 3. The reverse camera not coming on usually means a wire was left unconnected. Some work simply by having the camera turn on (ie the camera gets its power from your reverse lights), others also need a reverse light wire connected to the back of the unit to tell it you're now in reverse. I suggest double checking the wiring diagrams and how you have everything connected

    TRD 86?

That's a bucket load more to pay for something with a fancy kit and better brakes FFS they haven't even supercharged or turbocharged it!!! There was a smaller price difference between the Standard Aurion and it's TRD variant and they were able to supercharge it (with better brakes, bodykit etc) Note - If it is indeed supercharged or similar, then I take it all back and all is forgiven
  5. With the V6? No chance. On long trips you will (in all likelyhood) but any around town driving and it will shoot up. With the V6 most report an average economy greater than 13.5L/100km With the diesel version, economy hovers between 9.5 to 11.5 depending on vehicle mods etc however it doesn't really get much better on long trips. This is all assuming you're talking about the 4x4 models. If only the 2wd models expect to take around 2L/100km off those figures.
  6. When the new shape came out in 2005 the buzzer was fairly loud, as it doubled as the seatbelt warning etc. Alot of people complained about this, especially as for the most part there wasn't a straight forward way to disable it - heck alot of people just stuck a screwdriver through the buzzer to shut it up (it's part of the instrument cluster btw) It's possible they listened to this feedback and made it quieter on later versions. What you want to achieve is fairly straight forward but does require some wiring modifications and as I've never done it before (or read of someone who has) I can't provide you with specific instructions but if you're handy with electrics then the Hilux wiring diagram could provide you with a solution - if it were me I would just cut the lighting wiring for the cluster and connect it to the accessory power, which would have the dash lights on every time the car was running. The lighting wire though might be part of a complete circuit so that would have to be considered and referencing the wiring diagrams should help there. Unfortunately they're no longer online but I think you might be able to find a link on the newhilux.net forums
  7. I don't believe Toyota ever made any inhouse ute trays, but instead it was down to individual dealers to make deals with local suppliers. Best bet would be to approach your nearest dealer and ask them who they deal with, but really there are a number of tray builders out there and should be a few who have a tray similiar to what you're after
  8. New Pioneer component speakers and sound deadened (Dynamat) front doors of the Hilux
  9. I'm looking forward to a frothing at the mouth DJKOR, running screaming across a busy main road in a desperate bid for milk salvation.
  10. There will be a special event on tomorrow night that I'm glad to say I'll be attending. Our "friendly" forum moderator DJKOR will be doing a dance that involves clutching at his throat, wheezing, and loss of consciousness has not been ruled out. Fun times for all
  11. search within the Aurion section of the forums, I believe there are a few topics in there that may interest you
  12. Welcome, hope to see you at one of the meets new faces are always welcome
  13. I decided to stop fussing about trying to get the paint on the sides absolutely perfect and finally bolted them on. Now all I need are the boxes to fill the front half of the tray however I just heard this morning they're at least 8 weeks away :(
  14. Finally got around to making/installing the mudguards. Making an infill panel/support for them tomorrow. Dropsides are still in progress, not entirely happy with the paint just yet.
  15. All vehicles I have ever bought the odometer was on the form (ie receipt, statement of ownership etc) I received from the seller. Obviously that's not a universal thing, but it's also possible the seller has tried to trick you. Changing the engine or anything is not grounds for changing the odometer- the only legal method is to change the entire cluster, but even then I think there might be a legal requirement to have the cluster corrected to show the true reading. Have you tried contacting the seller to query this difference?
  16. Your best bet is to let your insurance company know if you're concerned. On the other hand, you only have to disclose information to you would be expected to know - you don't know for sure it has been altered, and if it were ever raised the insurance company would have to prove on the balance of probabilities that you were aware of it and did not inform them. If you changed it yourself its pretty easy to prove as the reading at time of claim would be lower than at the time you bought it (I believe it's recorded on the change of ownership forms)
  17. 6th gear before 70km/h would be very low - I know mine wouldn't do it By 80km/h on a flat road it would, but even at highway speeds it wouldn't stay in 6th unless I was just puttering along.
  18. Sounds like your repulsor lifts are getting a bit old and aren't providing the thrust they need to anymore Try to ease into landings more gently and keep it below 500 feet before you can afford to get it checked out professionally
  19. Welcome aboard. Starting to see a few 86 owners popping up recently, can't wait to see one in person myself Bit different though going from a high 4x4 to a drifting coupe
  20. Sometimes you simply get a bad battery - it happens from time to time
