  1. Selling the personalised plates I had on my Aurion before I sold it last year 70CAU (TOCAU) Purchased them to wave the flag for the car club and have since been running them on my ute however the ute is now being used more as a work vehicle and the plates no longer suit. Plates are still in excellent condition aside from some slight marks where they screw onto the car. Asking $350 which is slightly less than what I paid for them, but all reasonable offers considered. It is my hope the new owner of these plates will continue to proudly represent the Toyota's Owners Club in meets/competitions/track meets etc. Contact me via PM if interested.
  2. I have a chipit module in my 05 D4D Hilux. They plug into both the fuel rail sensor and the MAP sensor on the intercooler. Has 16 or so tunes you can alter with a laptop quite easily. It comes pretuned with tune 5, and right away it made a huge difference to how it drives. Plenty of torque and also a very noticeable increase when it comes on boost around 1700rpm. I've got mine on tune 7 now which is slightly better, however my injectors are making a bit of a racket so I'll probably drop it back to tune 5 in which everything ran quite well. Biggest advantage of the chip is how much nicer the ute is to drive now - much less gear changes required around town and I can actually overtake someone on the freeway if the need arises.
  3. Sounds like a pretty straightforward warranty claim - and surely they can't say "only 2 days of warranty left" to deny a claim. Any other reasons given? Make sure you start documenting everything now though, so they can't fudge paperwork and claim you actually came in a few days after when you did.
  4. Do NOT buy anything fibreglass from that company. They are extremely poor quality and require a considerable amount of work just to fit, let alone to look any good. Their customer service is also very much lacking so don't expect to get any real assistance from them either,
  5. It's also structured to make you spend more than necessary as well. If I use my Hilux as an example Fuel pressure relief valve - $1100 (screws into the end of fuel rail). It's that expensive because they won't sell it separately from the fuel rail despite being a separate part Intank fuel filter - $696 (clips onto bottom of pickup). Again it's because they won't sell it separately to the entire pickup assembly. When I did some work on the injectors recently, 4x copper washers and 4x O-rings set me back $65. True value would probably be less than $10.
  6. As every bumper is different it's very difficult to say how difficult it would be. Obviously plastic welding would be required and you'd end up with something that looked very different to the vehicle it originally came from. That said nothing is impossible if you're willing to spend enough $$$
  7. Did the engineers reports ever save you from some over-zealous transport officers or Police?
  8. Us Brissie fellas don't like to talk about it, but I doubt he'll be returning to the forums.
  9. If I recall the boot lights actually had an unused bulb holder that could be easily made to light up as well
  10. Looks to me they're just the 2010 Aurion Sportivo taillights - I had the same ones on my Aurion before I sold it
  11. Now I understand what you meant, some people love the idea of putting a Lexus badge on a Toyota especially since you titled the thread "engine cover" not referring to the engine bay. Whilst the gear in the engine bay might be in similar locations, the actual shape is different enough that they likely won't fit. It's a common mod to do in the showcar circuits with custom fibreglass covers but for a road car it's overboard.
  12. Read the fine print - if that information is in there then you'll have no luck with fair trading
  13. 20% more power is quite a claim from just a cat back exhaust, for a TRD that's about 50kw. Also interesting how you say the computer was revamped as, at least to my knowledge, the ECU hasn't been cracked yet so can't be tuned. Only tuning that has been done as been via an aftermarket piggy-back computer. If it seem skeptic, it's only because you're not the first person to be overly optimistic about their gains.
  14. It all comes down to the settings in the ECU, which can be adjusted by Toyota. You already provided your own hints from your original post by saying a ) In auto, the low beams never come on automatically b ) In auto, sometimes only the parkers come on when it's dark enough to need the low beams It sounds to me like the switch point is far too dark in the ECU settings, so when it should be time for low beams the ECU is only thinking it's just dark enough to only need the parkers. As in all your posts when in auto the only results you have seen are either no headlights, or parkers only.
  15. You run the same risk at any mechanic. 'Stealership' or not Rubbish. Find a local mechanic who puts his name on his business and lives or dies off local reputation/repeat business. Stealerships are simplymoney making animals, and they don't give a crap whether you come back or not, plenty more mugs where you came from for their service 'advisors' to con... Perhaps, but a lost log book could still happen anywhere regardless of their attitude.
  16. Sounds like a problem with the turbo, which if it wasn't boosting or spinning the compressor wheel properly would act more like a major restriction on the inlet thus limiting power substantially
  17. Ah yes you're right, didn't even see it attached to the intake piping there
