  1. I went flying past an XR6T once.....then he turned the blues and twos on TOCAU does not condone street racing, no matter how awesomely fast 200 killer-wasp Aurions are. Actually i wasn't on street racing per se. I was actually on Freeway strictly 100kmh speed limit. He was the one who was speeding yet I passed by him. I don't know what went wrong with his Falcon You sound very confused... or possibly very stoned.... or maybe even both LOL I wasn't confused but I would never drive vehicle stoned! In fact I hate drugs full stop. Maybe I should have been more clearer what year model was his XR6T. His is a Ford Falcon AU XR6T the ones with bug eyes for headlights. Go figure! Didn't realise there was a turbo version of the AU falcon. If it's just the XR6 AU, then yeah that's normal for you to be faster. If he actually forked out to do a turbo conversion for his AU, then he got extremely ripped off

  3. Had this problem when I first picked up my 2005 Hilux over a year ago. Basically from lack of use the mechanism can get gummed up over time. I found I had to replace the cable that ran from the back of the controls to the heater box, with the little pulley pieces on both ends. Was a real pain of a job, lots of fiddly bits. If you're lucky just pull off the radio surround and look at the mechanism to see if it's something simpler. It might only take a liberal coating of WD-40 to fix.
  4. There might be a front lower brace you can get MAYBE, similar to this one: http://ultraracingaustralia.com.au/index.php?route=product/product&path=60_145&product_id=671 However the general word of mouth is that these don't provide an overly noticeable increase in handling, but stick out low enough they can in cases hit something you drive over. Might also be a brace that links the bottom of the B pillars along the floor pan, although I'm skeptical these actually do much. Otherwise that's pretty much it without getting into serious mods like roll cage and spot welding the body.
  5. They count tweeters as being a separate speaker. I don't know how the new Aurions are, but I would assume they have something like 2x dash tweeters 2x front door speakers (no tweeters) 2x rear door speakers (no tweeters) 4x Parcel Shelf speakers (speaker and tweeter combo x 2) EDIT Just did a quick google search and found this: http://www.netcarshow.com/toyota/2012-aurion/ "..The JBL premium audio system's speaker layout includes 2 8cm coaxial speakers with high and mid-range cones, an 8cm speaker on top of the dash, a 17x25cm woof in each front door, a 17x25cm rear-subwoofer and two 8cm rear surround speakers.
  6. I only know of the fuel in-tank filter, but I didn't know of any other one. Where is it? We've still got an old 07 ATX in the family that we service ourselves and the economy isn't so great, we did the intank filter about 6 months ago but if there's another one somewhere that's still original then that would explain alot
  7. Voice commands aren't available on Australian delivered models
  8. I've used the A1RMs before and found them so-so for braking when the brakes were cold. Once I've driven a few kms down the road and braked a few times they suddenly get better and when really pushing it they are absolutely fantastic. The HPX are good from the beginning, but don't last anywhere near as well after a few hard brakes. Re: Kluger rear brakes - from memory the rotor was slightly bigger than standard Aurion but was still solid (not vented) so for the outlay there wouldn't be much gained from swapping to them.
  9. not sure but it sounds like a warranty issue mate
  10. Have you been off road with your ute, do you find it helps in low range (that is if you have a 4x4)? Haven't had the chance to test it off road yet, but there is an increase in low down torque that's noticeable around town. I probably won't get a chance to test it off road for a while yet as my clutch is started to slip so I'll have to baby it until I can replace it. Might even have to disable the chip at the extra torque plus worn clutch does not a good combo make.
  11. Only known upgrade for the rear is the TRD brakes, which are quite expensive
  12. If you jack up the car does the wheel spin freely by hand? If not, remove the tyre and 1) if floating calipers, then unbolt them to swing them out of the way 2) if fixed, then you might need to remove the pads for this exercise. Either way once the caliper can no longer grip the disc, then try spinning the disc. If the caliper was at fault then they should now spin freely. You should also grab the top/bottom of the disc and check to see if there's any wobble in it. If the disc still binds or has free play in it, then it could be your bearings. A caliper can become seized very suddenly although it isn't very common. The above method will quickly enable you to determine where the fault lies.
  13. It differs for every car, and some times you need a scantool to do it. Best consult your dealer
  14. When you bled the brakes did the bleed the ABS actuator as well?
  15. Best place is ebay mate, that's pretty much where I've sourced all of my gear from

    DEFECT

The law (at least as far as I'm aware) regarding exhaust systems is as follows 1) Must be below a specified decibel limit (not 100% but it differs depending on year of manufacture of the vehicle) and 2) When modifying the exhaust, you need to maintain the same amount of "sound limiting devices" (aka mufflers/resonators) as factory. So removing the resonator isn't illegal per say, as long as you keep the total number of "mufflers" overall. That said, if I understand you correctly you intend to install a "shell" of a resonator over your pipes. This would give the external appearance of being legal but have no actual effect on sound levels. I cannot see how you could get pinged again in future using this method, as long as you stay below the required decibel level for your vehicle.
  17. Welcome! The more Hilux's on here the better!
  18. Welcome aboard! We don't have enough 4wds around here, let alone Landcruisers!
