  1. welcome aboard RE: ECU - for a N/A engine I wouldn't bother with it unless you were going forced induction, gains would be minimal otherwise
  2. I should probably get a balance/alignment done, I'm sure the engine isn't totally responsible for how she shakes about Wired up the work lights this afternoon and set to siliconing up some external joins on the tray to neaten the whole thing up. Unfortunately it was dark when I was doing that so hopefully when I see it tomorrow morning it doesn't look like I've made a huge mess of things
  3. I had 35w in my low beam and 55w in my high beam in my old Aurion. Never any issues just using the factory wiring
  4. Rewired all the new dash switches for Idle Up, Stereo, Spotlights etc as it was pretty dodgy before (jumper cables everywhere), including a new set of "relay holders" in the engine bay rather than just having a few random relays screwed to the shell all over the place. Actually came out looking factory Also got the rear facing work lights mounted and about half the power cabling done - shame though in order to make them legal they have to be wired so that either a) they can only be switched on from outside the ute or B) cannot be switched on while the engine is running
  5. Truth or not, a 4kw increase is more marketing than something that can actually be experienced. It would simply be a placebo effect, you'd need at least 10kw to start to feel any real world difference.
  6. check out the first page of this (very long) thread for meet details
  7. Be patient, he signs in very rarely however I have one of the TOCAU sticker thingys spare that I'm happy to pass on to a good cause. Meets happen every week like clockwork, you're more than welcome to come.
  8. Sometimes thats all thats needed with the hilux. Check out the newhilux.net forums theres a write up there on the topic
  9. Thats VERY low, even dodgy ATX's get around 10k up here BTW being interstate is no excuse for not turning up to meets. You keeping fit?
  10. On Thursday nights from 8pm. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php/topic/27430-the-brisbane-thread-weekly-meet-every-thursday-from-8pm/

  13. Welcome on board - a bit of development on the Aurion has been done here, looking forward to see how you go about modding yours
  14. Replaced the glow plugs, old ones didn't look too bad but the style of them makes me think they were the originals (I'm at 180k) Engine seems to start easier now, but gets to operating temperature a lot quicker! Shame as I've been suffering cold early morning drives without a heater for longer than I should have
  15. Oh Jack Nichols is coming out. Sweet ... Either him, or just some crazed, sexual deviant. ... SWEET
  16. No control modules for the steering controls, it's a direct resistance circuit that feeds straight into the radio (aside from the DISP button of course). It sounds more likely that your headunit has somehow forgotten how to interpret the volume down resistance If it's one of those plug n play chinese units then there should be an option to program your steering controls. If it's a brand name unit with steering wheel control compatibility then you'll have to consult the manual for that unit
  17. Were you on a Toll road at the time? If so then considering you have a time, place and good description of the vehicle tracking them down would be a piece of ***** You currently know it's a 1997 or 1998 Silver Holden VT Commodore V6. That helps a bit too.
  18. A few changes. After quite a bit of stuffing around I finally have my new bullbar - sits heaps better than the factory version with heaps better approach angle and underbody protection. Unfortunately when the bar arrived it had been damaged during transit, and the bar itself seemed to have very poor fitting fixtures etc so the bar needed plenty of repairs and modification just to get everything fitting well: it even had heaps of rust inside that had to be cleaned off and resprayed! Not happy one bit but now it's all together I'm happy enough. Also made up a new fuel filler as the previous one was very poorly done and had a few high points beyond the cap that meant I could only fill it up very slowly otherwise the nozzle kept clicking off. A week ago It took me 15 minutes (no joke) just to half fill the tank. Hopefully the new one goes much better.
  19. This entire thread - people posting that they've washed their car ^_^ ^_^ ^_^
  20. Ok well below is the wiring diagram for a Toyota Vigo, which is essentially the exact same as our Hilux even down to the wiring. Hope it helps.
