The rear window of the window drives me nuts! If it's raining or even just humid, the rear window fogs up (on the outside) and as there aren't any demister bars there isn't a damn thing you can do about it.
  2. They won't, it's been tried and although it has access to adjust ECU settings it wasn't specifically designed for that reason. Also your average Toyota mechanic wouldn't know anything about fuel maps etc. These previously mentioned devices appear to be designed to adjust fuel/spark settings etc via the OBD port, which means they're a different device to the Toyota tester. Just a different device that happens to use the same communication plug to alter the ECU People will give you their opinions until the cows come home, at the end of the day though the majority of them haven't ever had first hand experience with these devices so you'll need to try them yourself. Heck you could discover something that would change the entire modding scene here, simply because you decided to give something a go. That's how it normally works.
  3. Another member on here picked up a trashed TRD in order to convert his own Aurion, and even that was going to be an involved job. The supercharger itself is just component of many, many expensive parts

the sprayer activates the wiper at the same time, so regardless you'll still get some water getting in through the drivers window. I found this awesome system though that means I can keep my windows up, it's called the air conditioner. Bloody fantastic, but they hide in near the back of the owners manual so it's easy to miss. I've been telling everyone I can about it! :P
  5. Might be worth installing a bed and fridge as it sounds like you're practically living in it !
  6. I've done about 15,000km in the 3 years I've owned it. Log book would back me up on this
  7. Can't wait to see this in person. We need more 4x4 TOCAU rides here in Brisbane
  8. The exterior has been cleaned up a bit, bull bar has new brackets (courtesy of Toyota) and the outside has received a bit of attention. This is probably how she'll ride for the next few months.
  9. They're trying to trick you into thinking you have no choice but to buy a car because of the deposit. This is illegal or at the very least an extremely dodgy business practice and I personally would steer clear of such a place that would do such a thing. A deposit is only binding when paired with a SIGNED contract for sale. Simply making a deposit does not forgo this legal requirement and the dealer is trying to trick you into making you thinking you are already obliged to make a purchase. In many states you are entitled to a certain percentage of the deposit back if you decide not to make a purchase, I'm not sure what it is in Victoria unfortunately. Further you have a 3 day cooling off period, but you don't get all your money back if you change you mind (this also varies in amount state to state). I sense nothing but troubles will arise from dealing with these people and my advice would be to steer clear. You're already looking at the (very) higher end of the spectrum for these cars, better bargains can be found elsewhere.
  10. That's a fairly high price, but considering the kms on it and if it's in very good nick then I'd say it MIGHT be reasonable. However for that money you are almost in TRD Aurion territory, and at the end of the day it's just an SX6. Being the facelift version the SX6 does come with a few more goodies than the previous model, so it's personal preference really. Personally if they've been looked after there is very little difference between an Aurion that's done 10,000km or 100,000km. Being newer is always better but don't let the low kms convince you that it's worth paying $4000 or so extra then one that might have done 50 or 60k.
  11. Absolutely, but need to bail slightly early as I'll need to drop the Ute in to Toyota for the warranty work on Friday
  12. Slowly getting things back together. After putting the dash back together (respraying the top half whilst it was out), I've had to rewire the stereo due to the dodgy nokia bluetooth system that was in there before, get a new drivers seat as the old one had broken rails, installed a Camry leather steering wheel (Cheers Mr. Ramsay), new rooflining and copious amounts of sound deadening I'm NEARLY happy with it.. Happy in that she still needs a thorough clean, I'm not happy with the job the roof trimmers did, the radio surround needs to be repainted (hence why it's missing) and the rear of the cab needs to be covered in SOMETHING (bare metal doesn't do it for me). The sheer amount of work this ute needs to bring it to my standards is starting to dawn on me. I haven't even got to cleaning the door trims yet, let alone start fixing her up on the outside. Work will progress rapidly though once I find a buyer for the Aurion and can afford to pour more money/time into the Lux.
  13. After some consideration I've decided to drop the price, further still for confirmed TOCAU members.
  14. As mentioned I have recently changed careers and bought a Toyota Hilux as a work vehicle, as such I can no longer afford to keep the Aurion around and have to put it up for sale. I have spent the last few years building her up and have even pioneered a few mods that you won't find on any other Aurion. It's a very special car for me, and it is my hope that whoever ends up buying it takes equally good care of it. 2007 Toyota Aurion ZR6 Approx 90k Registered until October 2012 Price - $20,990 neg For a full list of standard features please consult the Redbook Additional features/Mods Satellite Navigation / DVD unit Sunroof 18" Alloy wheels Custom front Grill Whiteline 19mm rear sway bar Alpine amplifiers x 2 and JL Audio Subwoofer Eclipse front speakers with Vifa Tweeters Lexus IS350 leather steering wheel with functional paddle shifters and custom Carbon Fibre Toyota badge. 15. I'll also admit, once I saw my reflection in that paintwork my paints also got a bit tight... It's a hard life I lead
  16. I have to ask, but what the hell exactly do you do in those idolmaster games? I just don't get it
  17. I can't wait to see this in person, you've come a long way Anthony and you never fail to impress
  18. Don't mean to steal the thread I'll have my Aurion ZR6 up for sale in a few days, with just a tad under 90k, under $24000, with leather/satnav/mags/exhaust etc etc. My build thread is here
