  1. Bloody awesome. To get the ball rolling I've also done a quick photoshop of a TA emblem for "Toyota Australia". Forgive the dodgy skillz however the idea is obvious (probably looks best if you DON'T expand to full size)
  2. I'll be ringing up tomorrow to make a booking for up to 10 people. Pass the word and if people are bringing their partners or friends let me know so I can book accordingly.
  3. if anyone has any ideas please post them. Even basic paint drawings are okay. If I have time tomorrow I'll try and do an example one of a basic design
  4. I'm thinking of making up some custom badges for my car to replace the Toyota ones, however although I can make it I'm no good at designing it. On those lines what do people think of a TOCAU badge as a drop in replacement for the genuine Toyota round badges? Something we can put on our car that still keeps things classy/sporty, but doesn't attract the "Grandpa" aura that the Toyota badge seems to carry around with. If you like the idea and we can decide on the design I'm willing to make it reality, and even enough for other members to try too (small run pro-bono at first, if enough interest then for small fee) I'm thinking of something simple, yet classy. Something sort of how genuine toyota/lexus badges are. Another example might be the Toyota harrier badge (See link below). If you like the idea please post up examples of your idea! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TRD-2005-2006-2007-07-LEXUS-RX300-RX330-HARRIER-Emblem-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem519698c7f7QQitemZ350418946039QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
  5. okay executive decision time - just started drizzling at my place. Hardly anything but I think we should be safe and call a train meet.
  6. need a decision guys, cause once I head out it's a long way for me to change direction
  7. what do we reckon, loop or train? The clouds aren't going anywhere but weather reckons rain isn't likely. Either way I'm happy to do the train if the worst is only a shower or 2
  8. they reckon it should mostly clear up by this avo - if it does keep up I won't be along for obvious reasons
  9. Mate sorry if I go off topic a bit, but do you have any pics of the unit in the car? I took a look at the website and it seems to be a very nice unit indeed.
  10. The 10th is looking to be the best time for everyone so far. I'll start a list going in the first post to get an idea of numbers is case they need us to book a table. How does a 7pm start sound?
  11. Okay guys the suggestion has been made to have a TOCAU Brisbane Christmas party/dinner. Breakfast creek hotel is my suggestion. Anyone else interested and/or have a suggestion of where to go? Date hasn't been set, hopefully try to set it for a time which suits everybody the best so let us know when you can and can't come along. I'll be along thursday so we can brainstorm then if you're keen! UPDATE The preferred time is Friday 10th December at the Bar and Grill at the Normanby Hotel at 7pm. List of attendance so far. 1. Steven 2. d(-_-)b 3. Bush mechanic 4. Andrew357 5. ELEGNT (maybe) 6. Secaboy + friend 7. Oodee, Stu and Tom 8. 9.
  12. Also forgot to mention - the Lexus wheel is smaller than the Aurion one, and isn't completely round. It's oval shaped similar to a sports steering wheel, wider than it is high.
  13. Yep tried them several times both in s mode and in d , no issues. Of interest, the resistor values in the steering controls is exactly the same as my stock aurion ones, which means this mod can be done with the stock radio in place
  14. I just don't seem to be having any luck with this swap. In short I found I had actually blown a fuse under the dash, swapped it out and I have sequential mode again!!! :D BUT The steering wheel was grinding against the steering column plastic trim when turning. On closer inspection I've found that the steering wheel is actually warped and the left hand side is pushed back a bit, so it has to go back to the seller (USA) and hopefully a replacement can be sourced. Dammit!
  15. ECU reset didn't fix it. I'm completely out of ideas now. It seems as though I'll simply have to wait until it's on the road again (April-ish next year) and take it to Toyota to have them put that intelligence tester on it. At least I was able to confirm my wiring was correct before it **** itself.
  16. I have tried all combinations of leaving some things connected and unplugged other things etc, still can't get it to go into S mode. The whole S mode arrangement at the shifter is only 3 wires, which is for S-mode On, gear up or gear down. All of which work by grounding their respective wire in the loom when selected. I've even tried grounding the S-mode on wire directly to try and trick into going into S-mode... no luck. Do the error codes get cleared by unplugging the battery anyone? What I'm thinking now is that somehow it lodged an error code and as a result will not allow S-mode to activate until the code is gone (so logic error rather than wiring).
  17. a few developments, and one MAJOR snag. Have ordered a lexus airbag, and after trying several different auto electricians this morning I finally found one with a plug with the correct pins to fit the clockspring plug (so I can connect up the paddles). Ran the wires to the gear selector, wired up the paddles in parallel, turned the ignition on and put it in S and YES the paddles worked perfectly! HOWEVER I went back 10 minutes later, started the ignition however S mode has disappeared!!! Everything is plugged in, but when you put the shifter into S mode after D, it stays in D. I've been testing all the plugs with a multimeter, and trying to find a fuse or relay that could possibly be related however nothing has appeared. Even tried disconnecting the battery, coming back 30 minutes later and still the problem remains. Does anyone have any idea of how I can fix this or even where to look? I'd hate to think I stuffed the ECU but all my work was done with the battery disconnected and not one did I apply any power to wires. Been pouring over the factory manuals look but still haven't found the cause.
  18. I like that idea heaps, frankly I was very disappointed in that little cutlet they called a steak.
  19. I get that every time I bend my knee past a certain angle... I don't think it's age as much as it is downward force for us larger blokes
  20. Different shape - havent got the lexus airbag yet to test the plugs
  21. Wont be driving it without an airbag - getting a lexus one
  22. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=27173&st=125&gopid=424494entry424494 Damn it feels good, virtually everything fits perfectly! However bad news is that the Aurion airbag don't fit :(
