  1. Haven't got the option for free windscreen, however I'm sure I will opt for that cover before the time comes for a roadworthy and re-registration. Been a little busy with things in my personal life however I haven't been neglecting the car fully. See below for a teaser shot of my next mod currently underway.
  2. hogsbreath was okay but I'm starting to get a little bored with it (and I'm completely over the whole sundae thing). Maybe we should broaden our horizons and try someplace else next?
  3. I know you're new to the forum, but as DJKOR has said the FAQ is there for a reason - You'll find your question has already been answered (plus possibly several others you may have)
  4. At this rate it looks like I'm in, however would appreciate a pickup from the train station and drop off afterwards if anyone is able? Whoever can I'll buy you some drinks
  5. I'm not in a position to test this myself to be sure, but a while ago I had the same idea and pushed the start button and immediately the engine shut off, however I was only doing 30km/h at the time - perhaps it is linked to road speed as to whether it will work or not (like cruise control).
  6. Going through a yellow light when you could have stopped, and running a red are 2 different offences, however have the same penalty ($300 and 3 points, in QLD). There are literally a dozen different charges for yellow and red lights, so there are a variety of answers to the original question. Basically, it depends who caught you, a camera or an officer.
  7. Technically that is running a yellow, which carries the same penalty as running a red.
  8. Have you considered using a Lexus IS350 gear knob? It's slightly different to the Aurion one but of the same shape so would probably be the best fit. I've considered it but it's a low priority compared to other mods at the moment.
  9. my first contribution, star wars episode 1 - "what would have happened had Obi-wan used his force speed?"
  10. due to the ****, intermittent nature of my work at the moment I'll say count me in, but I might very well have to back out at the very last minute. Loop on a tuesday night is a nice change too
  11. one thing to be weary of to is make sure the new knob wouldn't be any wider at the base than the factory one. You'll see if you put it in sequential mode how close it comes to hitting the side of shifter surround - Mine already hits so it must be larger than average!
  12. I can't remember too well, but I think that increasing runner length results in more torque (at the cost of power) - this would make the car feel a bit quicker around town when you put your foot down but in reality you're actually going to be moving slower higher in the rev range. Although it looks very well built, I'm often a critic of anything that claims to improve power/torque AND fuel efficiency... I doubt if such an easy addition were possible Toyota or Lexus would have just ignored it when building the cars with these engines.
  13. if the cars under warranty, then it doesn't matter what they think. It's presenting a problem and an advertised feature is not functioning. Don't take no for an answer, if it doesn't work they're the ones who have to fix it.
  14. before I pipe in here, is the car meant to be used for off-road or track racing only?
  15. never noticed this poll before, but now I've seen the results - should we perhaps rename TOCAU to "The Sausage factory"?
  16. as DJKOR stated, a 20kw gain is already very impressive however I do believe that up to 40kw with just a new exhaust is not realistic. It is nice to know that those desiring a full exhaust now have that option, however I believe many will be deterred by the engine code. Is there no way this can be avoided without resorting to an aftermarket or piggyback ECU?
  17. so no longcat signatures then - gotcha
  18. I'm also interested in this, want a unique badge that would fit the space the toyota badge occupies snugly. I searched all over Ebay a short while ago and could not find a direct drop in custom badge - I considered using any number of the other type badges to "create" a custom badge but that never took off the ground. I know 51DER made a sort of custom badge, looks very classy.
  19. guy's I'll be heading out shortly - are we going to do a train meet regardless of how the weather holds out or are we going to hit the loop (assuming it isn't raining say after 7:30pm)?
  20. this reminds me something of the tale with the nintendo games and the butter burnt cooter.... If it IS true, then stop arguing, accept the facts that there is NO cheap, easy fix to this. The tank will need to be professionally drained, the fuel lines dropped, and then a compression test done on the engine to ensure it hasn't been completely gutted. It WILL require a professional mechanic to inspect it as you obviously don't have anywhere near the amount of skill to deal with this, and I'm not going to argue that point. Her parents WILL find out so you've had it there too, man up and accept it and stop acting like a little whiny b1tch.
  21. Who's out tonight? I'm 50/50 at this stage due to having work tomorrow early, but if I leave early it's a non-issue.
  22. Corolla52 - what you're asking is obviously very specific information that it's extremely unlikely anyone will know off the top of their head, hence they'd have to research it FOR you to get an answer. Use some common sense. You've got 3 posts which means you've essentially come on here, haven't contributed and already expect everyone to do your work for you. BTW welcome to the forum - now wise the **** up
